Emerging technology is having a substantial impact on strategic stability. This thesis will analyze the impact of developing hypersonic weapon systems globally on strategic stability. Hypersonic weapons are defined as weapons that travel at least five times the speed of sound (Mach 5). Hypersonic Strike Weapons (HSW) are hypersonic weapons capable of maneuvering at hypersonic speeds that makes them much more difficult to engage when traveling at such high speeds. Uneven democratization is a common yet poorly understood legacy of civil war. In the aftermath of the Lebanese Civil War (1975–1990), wartime processes of displacement interacted with Syria's intervention to transform local postwar political orders. In Beirut's suburbs, the bonds built between armed actors and displaced populations created opportunities for displaced people to extract responsiveness from local institutions, despite their vulnerability. But the power of displaced populations in their host community hinges on the fate of the locally dominant armed actor. การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาประสิทธิภาพการดำเนินงานตามนโยบายด้านการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ ของสถาบันเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศ 2) เพื่อศึกษาปัญหาอุปสรรคในการดำเนินงานตามนโยบายและนำผลการศึกษาไปจัดทำเป็นข้อเสนอแนะแนวทางในการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการดำเนินงานของสถาบันเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศ สำหรับงานวิจัยฉบับนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ดำเนินการวิจัยด้วยวิธีการศึกษาข้อมูลทางเอกสารและเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลด้วยการสัมภาษณ์ผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 10 คน ประกอบด้วย ผู้บังคับบัญชาระดับสูงจากกระทรวงกลาโหม ผู้บริหารและเจ้าหน้าที่จากสถาบันเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศ ผู้แทนจากสำนักงานคณะกรรมการพัฒนาระบบราชการ (ก.พ.ร.) และผู้แทนจากบริษัทร่วมทุน โดยผู้วิจัยได้นำแนวคิดทฤษฎีการวัดผลการดำเนินงานแบบดุลยภาพ (Balanced Scorecard หรือ BSC) มาใช้เป็นกรอบแนวความคิดเพื่อวิเคราะห์ประสิทธิภาพการดำเนินงานของสถาบันเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศ ผลจากการศึกษาพบว่าประสิทธิภาพการดำเนินงานตามนโยบายด้านการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ ของสถาบันเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศจากมุมมองการวัดผลประสิทธิภาพทั้ง 4 มิติ ตามแนวคิด BSC พบว่าในมิติด้านการบรรลุเป้าหมายองค์กรมีประสิทธิภาพดีเป็นไปตามตัวชี้วัดของ ก.พ.ร. และค่าเป้าหมายขององค์กร ส่วนมิติด้านคุณภาพการให้บริการประสิทธิภาพด้านผลสำเร็จของงานดี แต่ต้องปรับปรุงประสิทธิภาพในการให้บริการเนื่องจากมีกระบวนการขั้นตอนให้บริการที่มีความล่าช้าและยึดติดรูปแบบระบบการทำงานแบบราชการซึ่งขัดกับรูปแบบการดำเนินงานขององค์การมหาชน โดยต้องลดกระบวนงานขั้นตอน ปรับกฏหมายให้เอื้อประโยชน์ให้การดำเนินงานมีความรวดเร็วเพื่อไม่ให้เกิดการเสียประโยชน์ทางด้านธุรกิจจากกระบวนการจัดตั้งบริษัทร่วมทุน ที่ต้องใช้เวลานาน ส่วนมิติด้านกระบวนการภายในองค์กรและมิติด้านการพัฒนาองค์กรสู่ความเป็นเลิศพบว่าประสิทธิภาพด้านการพัฒนาองค์กรดี แต่ควรปรับปรุงด้านกระบวนการทำงานและพัฒนาทักษะของบุคลากรรวมถึงต้องปรับสภาพแวดล้อมของการทำงานการสร้างความตระหนักรับรู้และสร้างความเข้าใจของเจ้าหน้าที่ของสถาบันเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศให้มีความเข้าใจในวิสัยทัศน์ขององค์กร และมีการเปิดกว้างในการทำงานร่วมกันเป็นทีมทั้งภายในและภายนอกองค์กร เพื่อเป็นรากฐานสำคัญในการดำเนินงานตามนโยบายพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศอย่างเป็นระบบ ปัญหาและอุปสรรคในการดำเนินงานตามนโยบายด้านการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศของสถาบันเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศพบว่า กฏหมาย ระเบียบ คำสั่ง ข้อบังคับ ไม่รองรับกับการพัฒนาด้านอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ ระเบียบของหน่วยงานมีความซ้ำซ้อนไม่มีการทำงานประสานกันทั้งระบบ รวมถึงความไม่ชัดเจนในมาตรการการดำเนินงานตามนโยบายของรัฐบาล ตลอดจนกองทัพไม่ให้การสนับสนุนการจัดซื้ออาวุธยุทโธปกรณ์ที่ผลิตภายในประเทศ และการถูกจำกัดงบประมาณด้านการวิจัยและพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศ ซึ่งส่งผลให้ไม่สามารถพัฒนาบุคลากรที่มีความรู้ความสามารถด้านการพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

UAVs are becoming a crucial tool in modern warfare, primarily due to their cost-effectiveness, risk reduction, and ability to perform a wider range of activities. The use of autonomous UAVs to conduct strike missions against highly valuable targets is the focus of this research. Due to developments in ledger technology, smart contracts, and machine learning, such activities formerly carried out by professionals or remotely flown UAVs are now feasible. Our study provides the first in-depth analysis of challenges and potential solutions for successful implementation of an autonomous UAV mission.

Conflict, and violence related events have been found to have significant effects on the cognitive thinking and mental well-being of individuals. Although there is ample evidence suggesting negative association of conflict with schooling outcomes, there is non-existent research on how violence can impact degree choices made by students at the university level. By using university level admissions data between 2014 and 2016 from Pakistan, this paper examines the differential in preference for degree choices of students who live in conflict-affected areas compared to students who live in conflict-free areas. This article explores the failure of top-level interventions in the resolution of local conflicts and the role of local agency in peacebuilding. The article relied primarily on qualitative techniques and instruments to collect data to examine why top-level interventions by successive governments have failed to resolve the Bawku chieftaincy conflict. The article finds that top-level interventions have failed to resolve the conflict because they are introduced with little to no participation by local communities. The spread of ayahuasca shamanism throughout the Upper Amazon has become a matter of debate among scholars since, in 1994, anthropologist Peter Gow formulated the controversial suggestion that it could be a recent phenomenon in the Ucayali basin, usually considered the stronghold of a millenary tradition. A central focus for much of the Cold War was determining what would deter the Soviet Union; this was a topic upon which many of the West’s best and brightest labored to determine. In order to deter the former Soviet Union, a huge intellectual edifice was erected, which helped guide a variety of military programs, including not only the American strategic triad of land-based and sea-based missiles and manned bombers, but tactical nuclear weapons, hardened command and control, and space-based early warning systems. It also incorporated concepts, such as “extended deterrence,” “escalation dominance,” and “mutual assured destruction.”

The United States has created a military structure that is heavily satellite-dependent, without making corresponding improvements in the survivability of its space systems. The result is a classic opportunity for asymmetric, preemptive attack. The central question of this study is how to structure a strategy of deterrence to persuade potentially hostile actors that the costs of attack will nevertheless outweigh the benefits.
