Bulletin of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Chinese Version)
The global carbon value system represents a new consensus on values formed over decades of collective human action to address climate change. Its framework has been preliminarily established, with three dimensions—institutions, norms, and industries—forming a multidimensional space for expansion. Through this framework, the carbon value system can extend its influence to every aspect of human activity. At its core, the carbon value system involves reassessing the value of human activities and establishing new constraints for sustainable development. Consequently, enterprises must transform their traditional development models. For Chinese enterprises, the emergence of the global carbon value system during their pursuit of …

From Resource Mapping To Mechanism Identification: A Lunar Tethered-Satellite Exploration System And China’S Strategic Opportunities, Wei Yong, Zhiping He, Yanchu Yang, Ke Wang, Junqiang Zhu
Bulletin of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Chinese Version)
Lunar exploration is undergoing a paradigm shift from resource mapping to mechanism identification. Key processes, such as the modulation of volatiles by magnetic anomalies and the contribution of Earth wind to surface hydration, require strictly synchronized observations of magnetic-field gradients, particle fluxes, spectrally detected volatiles, and subsurface hydrogen within the same spatiotemporal window. However, a still-unfilled “near-lunar-surface intermediate layer” gap exists between conventional single-spacecraft orbiters and landed rovers: the capability for multi-altitude, multi-parameter, strictly synchronized process observations. A tethered dual-satellite system, consisting of a main satellite and a subsatellite connected by a 5–10 km short tether, naturally provides a dual-altitude …

Presence Without Exposure: Feminist Pedagogy In The Home-As-Classroom, Kristy Kelly
Presence Without Exposure: Feminist Pedagogy In The Home-As-Classroom, Kristy Kelly
Feminist Pedagogy
This commentary reflects on teaching during and after COVID-era remote instruction, when the classroom moved into students’ homes and “presence” became equated with visibility. Drawing from a course-based study conducted with students, I describe how patterned differences in men’s and women’s experiences of online participation illuminated the unequal costs of being seen—costs shaped by privacy, domestic constraints, and the risks of interpretation. I argue that feminist pedagogy requires decoupling engagement from visual exposure and designing participation around those most vulnerable to surveillance and stigma in online spaces. The essay outlines practical shifts—camera-optional norms, modality-equivalent participation, structured breaks, and low-stakes entry …
