All tractors tested at the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory were certified by their manufacturers as being stock model machines, conforming to specifications filed with the application for test. No special or high-test fuels were used except as recommended by the manufacturer as necessary.

All results within the official tractor test report were actually attained in tests and are without correction or allowances for friction, temperature, altitude, etc. The results were initially accomplished with the tractor in charge of skilled operators employed by the University.

In the volumetric course as offered by the Department of Chemistry of South Dakota State College for the spring term of 1931, we experienced difficulties in the methods which we were using for the determination of iron. The general method used was that of Penny's, using an outside indicator of potassium ferricyanide, and titrating with potassium dichromate.

"Formic acid, the lowest member of the fatty acid series, was obtained as early as the seventeenth century by distilling ants with water. Other methods were later found after the correct constitution of the acid became known. This acid is not difficult to prepare in a water solution, but it is difficult to obtain in the anhydrous state...The purpose of this work is to study the various methods of preparing anhydrous formic acid, to improve a method for preparing the anhydrous acid, and to correct specific gravity tables for aqueous solutions of formic acid"--Introduction, page 1-2.

"The phenomenon of steric hindrance has been observed and investigated in a variety of reactions, most of which have been with aromatic compounds. In this branch of study the speeds of reaction of ethyl acetoacetate, α-mono-methyl-ethyl-acetoacetate, α-mono-ethyl-ethyl-acetoacetate, α-mono-propyl-ethyl-acetoacetate in the presence of 0.05 and 0.10 normal hydrochloric acids have been investigated at temperatures between 60⁰C. and 90⁰C. "The electrolytic determination of lead as lead dioxide is a very desirable method, due to its simplicity, accuracy, and the small amount of the analyst's time required. The electrolytic method functions when both large and small amounts of lead are present. The method depends upon the fact that from a nitric acid solution the lead is plated upon the anode as lead dioxide; from the lead dioxide deposit the percentage of lead may be calculated.

The mathematics of the high school is perhaps the simplest of its kind and yet very few textbooks carefully define all technical terms as they are introduced. Though the original purpose of this thesis was to investigate the cause for criticisms of the acoustical properties of the College Auditorium, it has been enlarged to a study of other Stockton Auditoriums and rooms with the idea of securing a technique of acoustical analysis similar to that of acoustical engineers in the industries. It was planned at first to set up an oscillator and reverberation meter, but it was found that the apparatus expense would be quite prohibitive.
