This paper explores a total of six research studies and will contain a literature review and proposal for further study regarding the effectiveness of the ketogenic diet as an adjuvant cancer therapy. Each study addresses a variety of different factors involved in KD implementation, ranging from effects on body composition and lipid profiles, to self-proclaimed quality of life, to tumor expression and progression under a KD regime. Type II Diabetes is a concerning global health issue and must be addressed. Given the unfortunate risks of T2D in the Filipino populations, prevention efforts must begin in this select population. There is strong empirical support for utilizing lifestyle interventions such as nutrition and physical exercise to prevent these diseases in adults; but it is not clear whether the same holds true for Filipino populations.

Objective

With the exponential rise in reported cases of postpartum depression, medical workers within the psychiatric and research communities seek to discover new methods to prevent its onset. The purpose of this study is to compile the available research that has been conducted to investigate the relationship between perinatal nutrition and the prevention of postpartum depression. Nineteen peer-reviewed articles were gathered from medical databases based on their ability to report evidence on the increased consumption of omega-3 fatty acids or vitamin D and their prophylactic therapy against postpartum depression. A quasi-experimental study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of a shared-decision-making (SDM) intervention using a decision aid (DA) with medication adherence and social support of African American/Black adults with type 2 diabetes. Orem's self-care theory and self-care deficit theory were the guiding frameworks to conceptually define and explain medication adherence as a self-care demand and shared decision making and social support as conditioning factors for promoting medication adherence. Breast milk and donor human milk is used in the prevention of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) in preterm infants born prior to 37 weeks gestation and those with very low birth weight. This process occurs through direct breast feeding and tube feeding. The aim of this study was to compare the use of breast milk and donor milk to the use of formula feed in preterm infants. The aim of this study was to determine if the COVID-19 pandemic affected the health behaviors and feelings of career preparedness of undergraduate nursing students. Participants were recruited from the pre-licensure program at the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing, at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville during the Fall 2021 semester. The final sample consisted of 92 participants. This study used a cross-sectional design, retrospectively measuring behaviors and attitudes pre-pandemic and during the lockdown period. The primary goal was to examine rural school-based settings and explore options to fulfill healthcare care gaps. A secondary objective was to explore telehealth systems and identify one that provided thorough diagnostic evaluation abilities. The purpose of this integrative review was to assess the research on topical emollients to prevent atopic dermatitis (AD) also known as eczema, in infants at high risk for this condition. Atopic dermatitis is a common chronic inflammatory skin disorder. Skin barrier dysfunction plays a prominent role in its development. Topical emollients have been hypothesized to enhance the skin barrier and prevent AD.
