Beethoven’S An Die Ferne Geliebte, Paul R. Piersall
All Master's Theses
Beethoven has often been accused of writing vocal music which exceeds some normal limitations of the voice. Such unfortunate accusations result in many singers avoiding his vocal music. Through means of historical evidence presented in this paper, through an examination of An die ferne Geliebte and its performance, the writer hopes to dispel some of this misunderstanding of Beethoven's vocal music.

Occupational Experience Qualifications Of Vocational Business Education Teachers In Utah, Mary D. Rigsby Carling
All Graduate Plan B and other Reports, Spring 1920 to Spring 2023
On December 18, 1963, President Johnson signed into law the Vocational Act of 1963. With its passage, cooperative secondary school office education and distributive education received needed encouragement and financial assistance. Educators in business are, as never before, challenged to prepare effective teacher-coordinators for the cooperative part-time program in business.
The instructor of a vocational course should have a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of his subject area. One of the ways in which the vocational business education teacher can obtain this knowledge is through actual job-related experience. The Peabody Report, compiled by the George Peabody College for Teachers, under the …

Meet The Band, Clayton G. Furch
All Graduate Plan B and other Reports, Spring 1920 to Spring 2023
The purpose of this composition is to introduce the instruments of the band to audiences, particularly of elementary school age. The work is written in the style of a theme and variations. Each variation is intended to display the musical characteristics of a musical instrument or instruments. As the narrator introduces each group of instruments, the players should stand and display the instruments so that the audience will learn to recognize the instruments by sight and sound. The composition may be performed without the narration if so desired.

All Graduate Plan B and other Reports, Spring 1920 to Spring 2023
The pursuit of musical excellence is the goal of the professional music educator. The author believes that the intensive study afforded to him by the graduate program was one way in which he could improve his teaching techniques.
In addition to preparing a graduate recital. the author wanted to experience the personal growth and satisfaction of composing music. He felt that the area of composition could offer many insights which would lead to a more complete musical understanding. The graduate program also offered advanced courses in the psychology of teaching and the philosophy of education, which the author hoped would …
Recital Report, Douglas C. Brenchley
Recital Report, Douglas C. Brenchley
All Graduate Plan B and other Reports, Spring 1920 to Spring 2023
In selecting the compositions to be presented in this graduate recital, several important factors had to be considered. First, this candidate felt that it was very important to include a variety of music in the recital; songs and arias from different eras of history, performed in their original languages, including French, German, Italian and English. Representative composers had to be selected, allowing the candidate to sing music worthy of a graduate recital. This music also had to include those qualities which would tax the candidate's ability as an educator and performer; rhythm, style, range, interpretation and technique--all of these qualities …
