Objectives: While maxillary sinus fungal balls (MSFB) can be associated with odontogenic conditions (MSFBO), MSFBO clinical and dental features have not been compared to odontogenic sinusitis (ODS). This multicenter study aimed to compare characteristics of MSFB, MSFBO, and ODS.

Methods: A multicenter international retrospective cohort study was conducted on adults with MSFBs and ODS who underwent sinus surgery. Background: The first international clinical standards of care for the gender-diverse population were formulated in the late 1970s. In the last 15 years, multiple subspecialty societies within the United States have developed clinical care guidelines for those with gender dysphoria, including gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) and surgical treatments. To date, there are no pathology- and laboratory medicine-specific recommendations in the United States for the gender-diverse population.

Objective: To explore UIM pediatric residents' perspectives on how belonging impacts PIF and Well-BP.

Methods: We conducted a national qualitative study grounded in a critical interpretivist paradigm using virtual focus groups with UIM pediatric residents between June 2022 and April 2023. Data were analyzed by 4 authors using reflexive thematic analysis until theoretical sufficiency was reached. Member-checking was conducted to ensure the trustworthiness of the themes.

Background: Hyper-inflammation is common to multiple critical care syndromes, including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and sepsis, and is associated with worse outcomes. A signature of hyper-inflammatory ARDS has been described in adults using IL-6, TNFR1, and bicarbonate, and has prognostic utility. We investigated the application of this traditional parsimonious signature to pediatric ARDS patients and tested whether we could improve prognostic enrichment using other cytokines.

OBJECTIVES: Inferior petrosal sinus sampling (IPSS) is important for confirming Cushing's Disease (CD). Due to lack of corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH) availability, desmopressin/DDAVP is being used as the alternative stimulating agent but has limited data regarding testing cutoffs.

DESIGN: We compared the stimulation profiles of desmopressin and CRH in patients with CD.

Objective: Cancer survivors, defined as those living with or beyond a cancer diagnosis, experience more than double the prevalence of psychopathology when compared to the general population. Categorical diagnostic systems, such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), remain dominant in psycho-oncology despite concerns about reliability, validity, and clinical utility for this population. Dimensional frameworks, such as the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP), offer a more precise alternative; however, they have not yet been widely applied in cancer survivors. Introduction: Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is associated with cognitive impairment, but its longitudinal course of cognitive decline remains unclear. We investigated domain-specific cognitive trajectories in Dutch-type hereditary (D-CAA) and sporadic CAA (sCAA) to compare patterns and rates of decline. Methods: We included 181 participants – 93 D-CAA mutation carriers (59 without, 34 with prior intracerebral hemorrhage [ICH]) and 88 with sCAA (57 without, 31 with ICH) – who underwent annual neuropsychological assessment. Background: Globally, there is an increasing trend towards using digital technologies in midwifery education with little examination of trends, terminology or impact by midwifery academics. This study examined the effects of caffeine consumption on endurance exercise performance, and the influence of CYP1A2 gene polymorphisms in caffeine pharmacokinetics and exercise performance. The data sets of two randomised, double blind, placebo-controlled crossover study design experiments have been merged. Purpose To synthesis the available research on the association between hypertensive disorders during pregnancy (HDP) and adverse cognitive outcomes in children. Methods PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase, Scopus, CINAHL, and PsycInfo were searched from inception to February 2026 to identify relevant studies. Effect estimates and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were extracted and pooled using inverse variance–weighted random-effects meta-analysis. Results Thirty-nine observational studies published between 1982 and 2026, covering over 12.5 million mother-offspring pairs, were included in the final analysis. Purpose: Racial and ethnic differences in oral cavity cancer (OCC) stage at diagnosis are substantial, but the reasons remain unclear. We assessed insurance status and social neighborhood factors as potential pathways.

Methods: Using the Texas Cancer Registry, we identified adults diagnosed with OCC between 2010 and 2020. We examined the crude and multivariable associations of race and ethnicity, insurance status, and social neighborhood factors with stage at diagnosis. Current oral food challenge (OFC) protocols for food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES) exhibit significant variability, creating potential for inconsistent diagnostic outcomes and severe reactions. Based on the published evidence and our clinical experience, we propose a practical, standardized OFC dosing protocol that emphasizes patient safety, goals based on age-appropriate servings (AASs), and clinical monitoring. A recent systematic review reported that most patients with persistent FPIES who underwent OFCs reacted to just 25% of an AAS, with low rates of severe reactions. Owing to their overlapping geographical distribution and the consequent occurrence of coinfections, several studies have evaluated the impact of helminth infections on malaria immune responses and clinical outcomes. However, little has been reported on how malaria coinfection affects anthelmintic responses in children harbouring worm infections. Background: Accumulation of brain amyloid beta (Aβ), a key pathological hallmark of Alzheimer's disease (AD), begins decades before cognitive symptoms. A central Texas resident found an engorged Ornithodoros turicata tick attached to their ankle while at home. The tick tested positive for Borrelia turicatae, an agent for soft tick-borne relapsing fever. Three weeks earlier, the patient started experiencing febrile episodes, rash, and nausea, yet the etiological agent went undiagnosed.
