Background/aim: This study aimed to identify small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) in children and adolescents with persistent symptoms of duodenogastric reflux disease (DGRD).

Materials and methods: Patients aged 5–18 years who were diagnosed with DGRD between 2021 and 2023 were identified. Patients with two or more of 10 symptoms suggestive of SIBO (nausea, vomiting, weight loss, diarrhea, fatigue, joint pain, bloating, depression, acne rosacea, malnutrition) underwent lactulose hydrogen breath testing (LHBT).

Background/aim: Relapse remains common in antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV). We examined factors associated with relapse after remission.

Materials and methods: We retrospectively reviewed 130 adults with AAV followed between January 2015 and May 2026, all of whom achieved remission after induction therapy. Demographics, disease subtype, serology, organ involvement, baseline laboratory values, treatments, and relapse were recorded. Relapse was defined as recurrent vasculitic activity after remission requiring escalation/ modification of immunosuppressive therapy. Time from remission to first relapse was analyzed using Cox proportional hazards regression, with serious infection modeled as a time-dependent covariate. No imputation was undertaken.

This study evaluated the proportion of depressive, anxiety, and stress symptoms and their differences across sociodemographic groups among RTs in two Saudi Arabian tertiary hospitals.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted between March and September 2023 at two tertiary hospitals in Jeddah and Riyadh. Out of 355 invited RTs, 112 completed an online questionnaire comprising sociodemographic items and the validated Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21).

Introduction: The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a seven-part movement assessment used to identify injury risks caused by faulty biomechanics. There are three barriers in traditional FMS assessments that could affect the tool’s validity: the subjectivity of human scores that could cause bias, the need for in-person evaluations which limit access for remote patients, and the requirement of specialized training to use the tool, which makes it less accessible. Hypertension is a major modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, yet timely follow-up after elevated blood pressure (BP) readings is not consistently documented in primary care. This Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) quality improvement project evaluated whether a standardized hypertension screening follow-up protocol improved provider initiation or documentation of guideline-concordant follow-up within 14 days. Benign cystic and tumor lesions of the jaw bones represent relatively frequent pathological conditions encountered in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Although these lesions are often asymptomatic and slow-growing, they may lead to progressive weakening of bone structure.
