Nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) is a type of head and neck cancer that is prevalent in China and Southeast Asia. The standard treatment for NPC is radiation therapy (RT), which requires accurate target volume delineation (TVD) to ensure an effective radiation dose while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues. However, TVD is subject to intra- and inter-observer variability, which can affect the accuracy of RT and lead to unstable results in radiomics analysis. Antiresorptive drugs are widely used to treat osteoporosis. A serious adverse effect of these drugs is medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ). By informing and educating patients about MRONJ, providing proper dental referral, and monitoring the oral health of patients who receive antiresorptive agents, physicians can reduce the risk of MRONJ. We investigated the awareness and clinical practices of physicians in Thailand with regard to MRONJ. Physicians who prescribed antiresorptive drugs for osteoporosis filled out an online self-administered questionnaire about demographic characteristics, awareness, and practices related to MRONJ. This study investigated the effects of the pitch (P) and thread shape on orthodontic miniscrew cortical bone microdamage. The relationship between microdamage and primary stability was examined. Ti6Al4V orthodontic miniscrews had custom-made thread heights (H) and pitch sizes and were classified into the following groups: HCPC (control); HCPN (with a narrower pitch); and HTPC (with a taller thread height) (HC = 0.12 mm; HT = 0.36 mm; PC = 0.60 mm; PN = 0.30 mm). The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the remineralization efficiency among Nano-silver fluoride 400 ppm (NSF400), 38% Silver diamine fluoride (38% SDF) and 5% Sodium fluoride (5% NaF) on artificial dentine caries in permanent molar or premolar teeth. The teeth were sectioned to obtain 120 specimens (3 x 3 x 2 mm3). Objective: To observe and evaluate the difference in static and dynamic loadings between two mini-implant systems (RetenDent and MS denture® system, OSSTEM). Materials and Methods: Fifty mini-implant from two companies were included in the study. The compressive force was applied to the mini-implants at 30 degrees from its vertical axis. Ten specimens from each group were subjected to static load tests. Subsequently, five cyclic loadings were calculated from static compressive strength. The important factors contributing to the effectiveness of fluoride varnish are the amount of fluoride ion release and the retention time of the varnish on the tooth surface. Commercial fluoride varnishes are susceptible to mechanical removal; therefore, patients are informed to avoid eating for a few hours and refrain from tooth brushing for 12–24 h, which results in patient inconvenience. การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการทดลองแบบไขว้กันวัดผลก่อนและหลังการทดลอง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลของชุดการพยาบาลเพื่อการดูแลช่องปากต่ออาการกระหายน้ำและภาวะปากแห้งของผู้ป่วยที่ใช้เครื่องช่วยหายใจ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ คือ ผู้ป่วยที่ได้รับการใช้เครื่องช่วยหายใจที่มีอาการกระหายน้ำและภาวะปากแห้ง จำนวน 14 คน ที่เข้ารับการรักษาในหอผู้ป่วยสามัญ หอผู้ป่วยกึ่งวิกฤต หอผู้ป่วยวิกฤต โรงพยาบาลพระนั่งเกล้า เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วยชุดการพยาบาลเพื่อการดูแลช่องปาก แบบบันทึกข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล แบบประเมินระดับอาการกระหายน้ำ แบบประเมินภาวะปากแห้ง ซึ่งผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงตามเนื้อหาโดยผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิจำนวน 5 ท่าน หาค่าความเที่ยงของแบบประเมินระดับอาการกระหายน้ำโดยการทดสอบซ้ำ ได้ค่าความเที่ยงเท่ากับ .86 หาค่าความเที่ยงของแบบประเมินภาวะปากแห้ง โดยใช้สูตรสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาคอนบาค ได้ค่าความเที่ยงเท่ากับ .96 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา สถิติ Paired-Samples t-test และ Wilcoxon signed rank test ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ดังนี้ 1. อาการกระหายน้ำของผู้ป่วยภายหลังได้รับชุดการพยาบาลเพื่อการดูแลช่องปากต่ำกว่าภายหลังได้รับการพยาบาลตามปกติ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 2. ภาวะปากแห้งของผู้ป่วยภายหลังได้รับชุดการพยาบาลเพื่อการดูแลช่องปากต่ำกว่าภายหลังได้รับการพยาบาลตามปกติ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

A one-year-old, spayed female Welsh Corgi dog referred to the dental and oral clinic with chief complaint of apparent pitted, rough teeth surfaces, stained a tan to dark brown color. The dog was diagnosed with diffused enamel hypoplasia with no evidence of endodontic disease or malformation of tooth root. A restorative procedure with nanohybrid composite resin was performed. After treatment, the dog showed a good outcome with a smooth tooth surface, restorative material replaced to cover the previous defect and no evidence of pain or discomfort. Recent clinical studies have documented a high prevalence of dental disorders in donkeys. However, there are few studies about the same topic in China. A cross-sectional study was performed to investigate the prevalence of clinically diagnosed dental disorders of donkeys in China. A total of 101 jennies which had never received any dental care were examined for the presence of dental disorders under small-holder farm conditions. โรคปริทันต์อักเสบเป็นโรคในช่องปากชนิดหนึ่งที่พบมากในปัจจุบัน ซึ่งเป็นภาวะการอักเสบของเหงือกที่เกิดการทำลายเนื้อเยื่อโดยรอบที่รองรับฟัน ยาด็อกซีไซคลิน ไฮเคลต (doxycycline hyclate; DH) นิยมใช้กันอย่างแพร่หลายสำหรับการรักษาโรคติดเชื้อแบคทีเรียรวมถึงการรักษาโรคปริทันต์อักเสบ ปัจจุบันระบบเจลก่อตัวเอง (in situ forming gel system) เป็นระบบการนำส่งยาที่ได้รับความสนใจเพิ่มมากขึ้นสำหรับการนำส่งยาในช่องปาก โดยเป็นระบบนำส่งในรูปแบบของสารละลายแต่เมื่อสัมผัสกับร่างกายจะสามารถเปลี่ยนสถานะจากสารละลายกลายเป็นเจลได้โดยขึ้นกับปัจจัยทางสภาพแวดล้อม จุดประสงค์ของการศึกษานี้คือการพัฒนาเจลก่อตัวเองของยา DH ให้มีการปลดปล่อยยาอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยเตรียมสูตรตำรับเจลก่อตัวเอง 15 สูตร ซึ่งประกอบด้วย poloxamer407; P407 (16%w/w), poloxamer188; P188 (0, 1, 2.5, 5, 10%w/w) และ hydroxypropyl methylcellulose; HPMC (0, 0.2, 0.5%w/w) ด้วยวิธีร้อนและเย็น แล้วทำการศึกษาลักษณะทางเคมีกายภาพ ปริมาณยา คุณสมบัติการยึดติดเยื่อเมือก ความหนืด ความคงตัว และการปลดปล่อยตัวยาของสูตรตำรับ พบว่าสูตรตำรับเจลก่อตัวเองทั้งหมดแสดงลักษณทางเคมีกายภาพเป็นสารละลายสีเหลืองใส มีค่า pH อยู่ในช่วง 6.45-6.81 ระบบเจลก่อตัวเองของยา DH ที่ได้รับการพัฒนาโดยมีส่วนผสมของ P407 16% w/w, P188 5% w/w และ HPMC 0.5%w/w (F14) แสดงอุณหภูมิการเกิดเจลที่ 35±0.57°ซ และการคงอยู่ของตัวยาบน semipermeable membrane ที่เคลือบด้วย mucin ได้ร้อยละ 43.51±0.003 โดยมีลักษณะการปลดปล่อยอย่างต่อเนื่องเป็นเวลานาน 24 ชั่วโมง และพบว่าที่อุณหภูมิ 37°ซ สูตรตำรับมีความหนืดเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p<0.05) อย่างไรก็ตาม ตำรับที่พัฒนาขึ้นเกิดการเปลี่ยนสีเมื่อเวลาผ่านไปและเมื่อเก็บไว้ที่อุณหภูมิสูง จึงควรมีการพัฒนาสูตรตำรับเพิ่มเติมต่อไปเพื่อให้มีความคงตัวดียิ่งขึ้น

S. mutans biofilms were formed on a resin composite (FZ) and an alkasite (CN) materials and their pH determined after 24 h. Chemokines play pivotal roles in orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) through osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. We aimed to elucidate the effects of serial local vs systemic administration of the chemokine receptor CXCR4 antagonist AMD3100 on OTM. The maxillary right first molar (M1) of rats was moved mesially using a 10 g of force nickel-titanium coil spring. This study evaluated the antifungal, physical, and mechanical properties of tissue conditioner incorporated with different amounts of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnOnps) at different storage times (0, 7, and 14 days). Specimens of 0, 5, 10, 15 wt% ZnOnps, or 15 wt% nystatin incorporated into tissue conditioner were fabricated. The direct contact test (n=6) was performed to evaluate the antifungal effect against C. albicans suspension.
