A Role For Law Schools In Oeo's Legal Services Program, Thomas F. Broden
A Role For Law Schools In Oeo's Legal Services Program, Thomas F. Broden
Journal Articles
A breath of fresh air has blown into many law schools because of the national antipoverty program in general and the Legal Services Program of the Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) in particular. The antipoverty program has quickened the consciences of many legal educators who for the first time clearly see how little they have done to focus attention on the legal problems of the poor.
The main focus of legal education has been on the typical problems of paying clients. Consequently, there has been little effort to teach law as a helpful instrumentality for the indigent except perhaps in …

Scientific Eclat And Technological Change: Some Implications For Legal Education, George T. Frampton
Scientific Eclat And Technological Change: Some Implications For Legal Education, George T. Frampton
Michigan Law Review
The law-trained man has frequently been viewed as faced toward the past and preoccupied with precedent, form, words, technicalities, and money. Well might such a man be the fitting product of an educational diet of moldering appellate case opinions taken Socratically with a few crusts of casebook "notes" and classroom lapses into lecture. This is not a man for the season of scientific successes or for a society transformed by technological change.

Legal Education For Certified Specialization, Philip E. Heckerling
Legal Education For Certified Specialization, Philip E. Heckerling
Cleveland State Law Review
The purpose of this paper is to offer a partial solution to the public's loss of confidence in lawyers, suggesting that by means of post-graduate education conducted under the auspices of the various law schools, professional specialization in the law will be encouraged through certification, with the end result that lawyers and the public will both benefit psychologically and economically.

Law Students' Handbook, University Of Michigan Law School
Miscellaneous Law School History & Publications
This booklet has several purposes. It is designed, first of all, to help the first year student make the adjustment to a new and, we hope, interesting and even exciting experience. It is also designed to assist the more sophisticated upperclassmen in dealing with such problems as curricular planning and the choice of legal career.
E. Blythe Stason- Engineer Of Administrative Law, Ashley Sellers
E. Blythe Stason- Engineer Of Administrative Law, Ashley Sellers
Michigan Law Review
The retirement of E. Blythe Stason from the deanship of the Law School of the University of Michigan affords occasion for testimonials to him and to his work, including preeminently his enormous contribution to the improvement of both federal and state administrative law. Imposing as has been his career as the beloved and successful Dean of that superb school, his eminence among the scholars and craftsmen in administrative law was achieved before he began to occupy the Dean's chair and, God willing, he will long continue to lend his strong, skilled hands to the never-ending task of the perfection of …
