Rights For Nonhuman Animals: A Guardianship Model For Dogs And Cats, Joyce S. Tischler
San Diego Law Review
This Comment describes the existing legal status of nonhumans in general. Through an examination of the traditional cut-off points for legal rights, it will be shown that nonhumans should have rights that transcend their utility to humans. Finally, this Comment presents a guardianship model as a possible way in which the substantive rights of two species, dogs and cats, can be implemented.

The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has declared unconstitutional that portion of Pennsylvania's Adoption Act requiring only the consent of the mother in proceedings for the adoption of an illegitimate child as creating an impermissible distinction between unwed mothers and unwed fathers in violation of the equal rights amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution.

Videotaping Of Surgery For Use As Demonstrative Evidence In Medical Malpractice Litigation, J. Douglas Peters, Bernard J. Wilkes Iii

Medical malpractice claims are more than an insignificant concern for both the medical and legal professions, particularly in terms of the proof problems presented. The authors suggest that by videotaping surgery, malpractice claims could be handled more justly and efficiently, and they investigate the feasibility of videotaping surgery.

Judgment at Nuremberg 1 concerned the criminal trial of a former German judge who, under Hitler's Third Reich, had ordered involuntary sexual sterilization operations to be performed upon Jewish men and women.
