Parent And Child - Custody Of Child - Voluntary Relinquishment - Placement Agreements, David S. Bunnel
Duquesne Law Review
The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has held that child placement agreements voluntarily executed by parents and the county child welfare agency which condition the child's return on the agency's approval are authorized by state statutes and the regulations of the Department of Public Welfare and do not violate the due process clause of the fourteenth amendment to the United States Constitution.

Psychotherapy And Confidentiality, Ralph Slovenko
Psychotherapy And Confidentiality, Ralph Slovenko
Cleveland State Law Review
Does the psychiatrist talk too much? Does the modern practice of psychiatry threaten confidentiality? Whatever disagreement may exist regarding the methods used by a therapist in the course of psycho-therapy, there is a near unanimity of opinion among therapists that nothing about a patient should be divulged to third parties. Allegedly, the patient's full participation, essential to psychotherapy, cannot be obtained without an assurance of absolute confidentiality.
Intervention Between Parent And Child: A Reappraisal Of The State’S Role In Child Neglect And Abuse Cases, Judith C. Areen
Intervention Between Parent And Child: A Reappraisal Of The State’S Role In Child Neglect And Abuse Cases, Judith C. Areen
Georgetown Law Faculty Publications and Other Works
Once a court agrees that it has sufficient cause to assume jurisdiction in order to protect a child, there is a high probability that the child will be separated from his family for months or years, or permanently. Despite the disruptive impact this process obviously can have on children and their families, at present there is little consensus about when a court should find that a particular child is neglected or abused. And just as there is little agreement on when intervention in a particular family is justified, there is little agreement about what forms of intervention are constructive.

Interorganizational Conflict: The Case Of Police Youth Bureaus And The Juvenile Court, C. David Hollister, Joe Hudson
The Journal of Sociology & Social Welfare
Police departments, juvenile courts, training schools, and a variety of welfare organizations together constitute the network of agencies formally instituted to deal with juvenile deviance.I Because each of the organizations has an interest in reducing deviance, it is sometimes assumed that they share the same goals and work closely and cooperatively with each other. The purpose of this paper is to report on an exploratory study of inter-organizational relations at one link in this network: relations between police youth bureaus and the juvenile court.
