The Black Prince In France, Walter Charles Kitzerow Apr 1935

The Black Prince In France, Walter Charles Kitzerow

Bachelors’ Theses

When in 1337 the One Hundred Years' War no longer contented itself with casting dark shadows before, but actually reached its inception, he who was to become the most prominent figure in the conflict was, as yet, a lad of only eight years. Very likely no one but the boy himself, later to become known as the Black Prince, entertained the thought that he would play a conspicuous part in the struggle.

The Age Of Louis Xiv, Anthony Swanke Apr 1935

The Age Of Louis Xiv, Anthony Swanke

Bachelors’ Theses

It is the object of the writer to try to give some kind of a picture of this glorious age of Louis XIV. To attempt to show to some degree the important role Louis XIV played in France, and Europe itself all through this period. He practically rearranged all the boundaries of his own country, and did a great deal toward bring about the many changes found in his neighbors. He was without any question the predominating power of Europe throughout his entire reign.

Backgrounds Of Foreign Affairs In American Pre-War Thought Magazines, Thomas E. Moore Jan 1935

Backgrounds Of Foreign Affairs In American Pre-War Thought Magazines, Thomas E. Moore

Bachelors’ Theses

I intended in this thesis to examine the background in international relations and foreign affairs which the five journals of opinion of my choice were furnishing to their subscribers, particularly those newspapermen and editors who read these journals for information with which to provide in turn their own readers and for use in the formulation of their own foreign policy and attitude toward international affairs.

I was particularly curious, in view of what great catastrophe was about to descend upon the world in those days, to determine by an examination of the magazine files, specifically what informational material was being …

The Public Life And Achievements Of James Duval Phelan, Jean Tully Jan 1935

The Public Life And Achievements Of James Duval Phelan, Jean Tully

University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations

As a figure in the American period of California history, Mr. James D. Phelan's achievements were an outstanding example of what an honest man can do in politics. First of all, I have endeavored to show his contributions to the city of San Francisco. There is hardly any field of San Francisco life in which James D. Phelan did not leave a tremendous influence. The politics of his term as mayor were a shining model of clean and progressive measures.

As senator he kept the interest of California at heart. Through his work at the World's Columbian Exposition, he made …

Masters Theses & Specialist Projects

The purpose of this study is to find the hidden facts of a man who has done much to illuminate Kentucky's greatness and glory. Yet little but his name is known to the youth of the land. As death has fixed the seal of glory on his life, history should assign to him his rank. Much of the data in this sketch has been gathered from source material.

Chinese Civilization: A Brief Sketch Of Its Origin And Development, Marino P. Fiorani Apr 1934

Chinese Civilization: A Brief Sketch Of Its Origin And Development, Marino P. Fiorani

Bachelors’ Theses

It has been my earnest endeavor, in writing this thesis to ·trace in the many phases· the influences of Chinese civilization on Europe. I have attempted to discuss the origin and development of Chinese civilization. It is very difficult in making such a study, to be brief and yet clear. For this reason I have made a special effort to compile all the material and expound it in a unique and interesting manner, remaining brief but yet explicit. It has been my aim to compile this brief study on the civilization of the Chinese people in such a way that …
