Dynamic in style and content, his speeches commanded the rapt attention of the American people for three intense months during which he delivered over two hundred and fifty. Of interest and importance is the new insight into national problems that he gave to the American voter as a result of these orations.
The problem is to analyze, through his public addresses before and during the 1952 …

Many teachers have not had training in selecting books of this type. Consequently, they have had to rely upon descriptions too brief to be adequate tor their needs. Hannah Logasa,1 listed Barney's Barges as a story about the American Navy in the War of 1812. Many things happened to that Navy …

University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
The following pages comprise a translation of a section of the 維摩詰經 (VimalakIrti-nirdesa satra; Taisho Issaikyo, 475; Nanjio, 146), together with the joint commentary of Seng Chao () and Kumarjiva, to which a number of interpretative and exegetical notes have been added. The texts used have been those published in the Pu- haush To 'ung Shu edition. This is the version translated by KumarjIva from the Sanskrit, probably somewhere between A.D. 401 and 413. The commentator Seng Ch'ao was his con- temporary and student, dying a year later than his teacher in 414.
