Less Than/More Than: Issues Associated With High-Impact Online Teaching And Learning, Ricardo Montelongo

Administrative Issues Journal

The increased presence of online education in higher education in the United States continues to challenge educators in their perceptions of teaching and learning experiences in virtual environments. While critiques of online education typically focus on its “less than” shortcomings, this literature review encourages educators to take a “more than” approach when providing institutional support. The financial challenges involved in providing these practices are addressed to justify investment in faculty effort, organizational support and professional development, and equitable student …

Being Honors Worthy: Lessons In Supporting Transfer Students, Carolyn Thomas, Eddy A. Ruiz, Heidi Van Beek, J. David Furlow, Jennifer Sedell

Journal of the National Collegiate Honors Council Online Archive

In the ever-growing discussion of how to build and support honors programs that reflect the diverse communities our institutions serve, the recruitment of transfer students has only recently been identified as a key avenue to enacting more equitable programs. Reflecting on four years of recruiting, enrolling, and graduating transfer students in the University Honors Program at the University of California, Davis, we push the conversation beyond how to welcome transfer students in honors to how to meaningfully support them. We present the initial findings of our ongoing self-assessment to stimulate discussion about the unique challenges and opportunities transfer students experience …

The overarching focus of the study explores the advent of cybercultures within online learning course environments as a potential result of the intermingling of …

The Synanthropic Vegetation Of The Bidentetea Tripartiti Class, Turobjon Xusanbaevich Maxkamov

Bulletin of Gulistan State University

The present work is based on the phytocoenological and floristic studies. The classification of ruderal vegetation was carried out according to the Braun-Blanquet method. The syntaxonomic characterization is given in accordance with the “Code of phytosociological nomenclature”. In the flora of settlements and surroundings, the role of the families Asteraceae, Poaceae, Brassicaceae has been increased in the taxonomic spectrum. Moreover, this process is characteristic not only for the settlements of the Fergana Valley, but also for the cities of the temperate zone. In the phytocenotic spectrum as a whole, a role of open habitat species has been increased with simultaneous …
