Teacher-Scholar: The Journal of the State Comprehensive University

As a state comprehensive university in a small, midwestern metropolitan area, “Students First” is more than a slogan. The preamble to our Faculty Constitution and our University’s mission statement both specify that students and their flourishing are the justification for our institution’s existence. We have learned, however, that a precondition to robust attention to students’ well-being is parallel attention to the well-being and development of our faculty. This article chronicles the principles and practices by which our shared leadership team responded to unique challenges presented by the COVID crisis and its ripple effects. This article focuses on the content, purpose of social competence and the need to improve it in future teachers. In modern world linguistics, the semantic maturity of our Uzbek proverbs, which have passed down from century to century, recognized as a unique gem of our folklore. They contain dozens of semantic aspects of a word, all the examples of artistic means, poetic movements. Over the years, it has used regularly in live speech and interpersonal communication, as well as in artistic, historical, and scientific works. This article is devoted to the study of the language of newspaper headlines, it examines the lexico-stylistic and grammatical-syntactic features of English titles and the difficulties of their translation. The functional and linguistic features of newspaper headlines allow them to be distinguished into a special genre of newspaper style. The headings concentrate many lexical and grammatical features of the newspaper style, they most clearly reflect the characteristic features of the language of the newspaper.

The current article focuses on John Fowles and his literature from philosophical and psychological points of view. The author provides some thoughts and reviews of literary critics on Fowles’s works, and provides examples of existentialist ideas giving the titles of his most prominent works. John Fowles is claimed to be the most outstanding representative of 20th century existentialist and realist movements in literature. Philosophical problems posed in a work of art are solved not philosophically, but artistically, therefore, philosophical novels are characterized by allegory, a variety of allusions, rich symbolism, attempts to solve eternal questions.
