Sports Terminology As A Source Of Synonymy In Language: The Case Of Uzbek Language, Qodir Turdiyevich Ruziyev

Mental Enlightenment Scientific-Methodological Journal

Modern sports and their terminologies in European and other languages have been strongly influenced by English. In spite of our country being under the influence of the former Soviet Union for a long period, we can still see a lot of foreign sports terminology together with Russian terminologies in Uzbek language. Most sports terminologies are Russian because they come through Russian. The reason is that some of the most popular sports originating in European countries have been exported to other countries together with established terminology. There are several possibilities of how to transfer terminology into recipient languages: to borrow and …

Translation Of Russian Languages To Uzbek Language, Dilfuza Daminovna Turaeva Mar 2022

Translation Of Russian Languages To Uzbek Language, Dilfuza Daminovna Turaeva

Mental Enlightenment Scientific-Methodological Journal

In the works translated from Russian into Uzbek, on the other hand, translators often resort to visual aids. Because these field tools perform a variety of methodological and pragmatic tasks in a literary text, the translator uses them effectively. In the first case, the translator can perceive a semantic image of a verb or adjective in Russian and translate it in the translation by means of a word belonging to an independent category derived from a figurative word. This not only increases the informativeness, emotionality, or expressiveness of the text, but also does not violate the requirement of a volume …

Cognitive Features Of The Proper Nouns, Malika Pulatova Mar 2022

Cognitive Features Of The Proper Nouns, Malika Pulatova

Mental Enlightenment Scientific-Methodological Journal

Doing research on proper names has not been completed in the sphere of cognitive linguistics. From the point of view of cognitive science, the creation of a new name is not so much the use of predetermined mental representations, but an active process of establishing various connections between mental spaces in which various aspects of information are integrated. In this case, the linguistic unit does not just excite a certain stereotypical cognitive structure in our minds, but launches a creative process in which the person himself chooses the ways and means of constructing a situation or an object. With this …

The Transformational Leader In Nursing Practice – An Approach To Retain Nursing Staff, Anita C. Reinhardt, Teresa G. Leon, Linda Ochart Summers

Administrative Issues Journal

Transformational leaders have been shown to influence positive work environments and support the retention of nursing staff. While exemplars have been found in upper-level management, the implementation of these characteristics in unit-based leaders is less explained. The elements of the transformational leader on followers and the organization—individual consideration, individual stimulation, inspirational motivation, and idealized influence—can engage nursing staff to remain in an organization which will promote positive patient outcomes. This article will review the elements of the transformational leader and share two exemplars of the transformational metanarrative as demonstrated in nursing care units. Both exemplars demonstrate how the transformational leader …

Using social cognitive career theory, we explore how three participants in the Temple Education Scholars program develop academic and career interests in teaching and make educational choices related to their career aspirations. Following case study analysis, we …

He Needs To Be In A Learning Community – Learning Community, A Place Of Respite And Brotherhood While Persisting In College, Ngozi Taffe

Journal of College Access

Black males encounter significant microaggressions and race related challenges as students in Predominantly White Institutions. These encounters negatively impact their college learning and social experiences. In the face of these challenges, college retention rate of Black males falls behind those of other racial and gender groups (Toldson, 2012). Notwithstanding, statistics point to the success and persistence of Black male students in such oppressive environments and the role of learning communities in fostering successful outcomes for students. Using the Community Cultural Wealth (Yosso, 2005) framework, this qualitative study explores the experiences of eight Black males living in a same race same …

Some are predicting that remote work may be a new normal for many organizations, with companies offering work-from-home opportunities permanently (Kelly, 2020). Because of the long-term implications for remote working, leaders will need competencies to successfully engage remote workers using new and creative strategies, techniques, and technologies. The field of online pedagogy has useful applications for engaging remote teams particularly in areas of communication, …
