The Kean Review: Journal in Student Research
The goal of this research was to establish a reliable method to detect the presence of cannabinoids in wastewater and increase the sensitivity of detection. Since the legalization of cannabis in many states, toxicology research has expanded on methods of detection in hopes of identifying usage patterns. At the Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties, it was established that cannabinoids are not thoroughly accounted for in the process of filtering wastewater in addition to our limited understanding of consumption trends. Harvest strategies for Western Australia’s (WA) aquatic resources are formal documents developed by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD, the Department) to support decision-making processes that ensure the outcomes are consistent with the principles of Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD; Fletcher 2002a) and Ecosystem Based Fisheries Management (EBFM; Fletcher et al. 2012). Harvest strategies are a key component of all contemporary fishery management systems and a requirement for certification under the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). The objectives of ESD are reflected in the objectives of the Fish Resources Management Act 1994 (FRMA).

The increasing global demand for food necessitates efficient agricultural practices; however, the overuse of phosphorus (P) fertilizers presents a major environmental concern. Advanced materials, including biochar, offer promising strategies for mitigating these effects. Biochar, a carbonaceous material derived from biomass, can be functionalized with micronutrients such as magnesium (Mg) or iron (Fe) to enhance its P adsorption and retention characteristics so that the ion-doped biochar could serve as a sustained nutrient release fertilizer besides improving soil health. Utah People and Environment Poll (UPEP)
Bears Ears National Monument in Southeastern Utah was established in 2016 by President Obama after a coalition of Native American petitioned for its designation. In 2017, during his first administration, President Trump reduced the size of the monument by 85%. It was subsequently restored to the original boundaries in 2021 by President Biden. In 2022, the Utah Legislature provided $5 million in funding for the Attorney General’s office to challenge the Bears Ears National Monument designation, and the State of Utah filed a lawsuit in August 2022 challenging the designation (1).

Status Of The Western Australian Pastoral Rangelands 2025 - Total Vegetative Cover And Cover Risk, Department Of Primary Industries And Regional Development, Western Australia

DPIRD monitors and reports on the vegetation condition of pastoral rangelands in Western Australia. Two levels of reporting are provided: every 5 years a full report details the state, trend and risk of decrease of vegetation condition in the pastoral rangelands using information derived from remotely sensed and on-ground data; in the intervening years, short reports are provided based on remotely sensed data (this report).
This report is based on remotely sensed vegetation cover data, rainfall data, livestock data and station-level rangeland condition assessment (RCA) data available in November 2025. Data is presented for 23 land conservation districts (LCDs) across …

Supporting Data – Urban Stream, Cardinal Court, Isu, Normal, November 9, 2023 To May 1, 2025, Eric Wade Peterson, Ava Miller

Between November 9, 2023 to May 1, 2025, water samples were collected upstream and downstream along a segment of a stream adjacent to Cardinal Court on the Illinois State University campus. At each location, samples were collected at the surface. In-situ measurements of Dissolved Oxygen, Specific Conductance, and Temperature were recorded with a YSI 85. Anion samples were analyzed using a Ion Chromatograph for fluoride (F-), chloride (Cl-), nitrate as nitrogen (NO3-N), phosphate (PO43-), and sulfate (SO42-). The available dataset provides the recorded field parameters and the analyzed ion concentrations.

New Asymptotics Applied To Functional Coefficient Regression And Climate Sensitivity Analysis, Qiying Wang, Peter C. B. Phillips, Ying Wang

A general asymptotic theory is established for sample cross moments of nonstationary time series, allowing for long-range dependence and local unit roots. The theory provides a substantial extension of earlier results on nonparametric regression that include near-cointegrated nonparametric regression as well as spurious nonparametric regression. Many new models are covered by the limit theory, among which are functional coefficient regressions in which both regressors and the functional covariate are nonstationary. Simulations show finite sample performance matching well with the asymptotic theory and having broad relevance to applications, while revealing how dual nonstationarity in regressors and covariates raises sensitivity to bandwidth …

On 15-16 September 2025, Singapore Management University hosted the annual Atmospheric Circulation Reconstructions over the Earth (ACRE, www.met-acre.net/) workshop, ’ACRE 2025: Climate Data Recovery’, chaired by Fiona Williamson, Rob Allan and Praveen Teleti. The 2-day event took place at the College of Integrative Studies and saw around 30 participants from multi-disciplinary backgrounds all working in meteorological data rescue (DaRe, www.community.wmo.int/en/data-rescue-projects-and-initiatives-dare) sharing their latest work and discoveries. Speakers were a mix of climate scientists and historians, archivists and historical climatologists from across the globe.
