Test125: Cletrac Model A 30-45, Nebraska Tractor Test Lab

Nebraska Tractor Tests

All tractors tested at the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory were certified by their manufacturers as being stock model machines, conforming to specifications filed with the application for test. No special or high-test fuels were used except as recommended by the manufacturer as necessary.

All results within the official tractor test report were actually attained in tests and are without correction or allowances for friction, temperature, altitude, etc. The results were initially accomplished with the tractor in charge of skilled operators employed by the University.

Unless otherwise noted, each tractor was apparently in good condition at the end of the testing …

A Method Of Snow Surveying And Its Application To Forecasting Stream Flow, Leslie Bowen May 1924

A Method Of Snow Surveying And Its Application To Forecasting Stream Flow, Leslie Bowen

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

The value of knowing ahead of time the amount of water to be expected from any given stream before the season is to far spent is a valuable asset.

A Study To Determine The Feasibility Of Irrigating The Lands Included In The Cache Valley Water Conservation District No. 1, I. Donald Jerman May 1924

A Study To Determine The Feasibility Of Irrigating The Lands Included In The Cache Valley Water Conservation District No. 1, I. Donald Jerman

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

The purpose of this report is to investigate the feasibility of irrigating the lands of the Cache Valley Water Conservation District No. 1. The district, as it now stands, is very much in need of many improvements. The Main canals are now in use and are in a good condition to serve all the lands with the required amount of water, but the few laterals that are now constructed, are in a poor condition, with the remaining laterals yet to be finished.

Before successful irrigation can be practiced, a large portion of the land will require leveling and small areas …

A Study Of The Flow Of Water Over Triangular Weirs And The Determination Of Coefficients Of Discharge For Small Heads, J. Milton Barrett May 1924

A Study Of The Flow Of Water Over Triangular Weirs And The Determination Of Coefficients Of Discharge For Small Heads, J. Milton Barrett

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

The development of artesian and pumped wells as a source of irrigation water has created the need for a measuring device which will be accurate for small discharges. The thin edged weir has been accepted as one of the most accurate and desirable measuring devices for this work. Three types of weirs are now commonly used: the Rectangular, the Cipolleti, and the Triangular Notch weir. Of these types the triangular notch is probably best suited for small discharges (under 3 second feet). The various formulae for discharge over 90% Triangular weirs have been accurately determined for heads over two tenths …

Hog Houses For Nebraska, O. W. Sjogren, I. D. Wood Apr 1924

Hog Houses For Nebraska, O. W. Sjogren, I. D. Wood

Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station: Historical Circulars

The material contained in this bulletin is a culmination of several years' study and investigation of the different types of hog houses used in Nebraska. It is realized that the plans given will not suit all conditions that may arise, but an effort has been made to bring out the essential factors so that the plans may serve as a guide in planning a house suited to particular conditions.

The Outdoor Substation, Israel Herrick Lovett Jan 1924

The Outdoor Substation, Israel Herrick Lovett

Professional Degree Theses

"The Outdoor Substation, as an essential part of a high voltage distribution system, has been largely developed during the past 12 years. The New England Power Company was one of the pioneers in this development, their substation at Millbury, Massachusetts, being one of the first outdoor substations in the northern part of the country. During the five years' experience with this company, the writer of this thesis, in his position of Chief Electrical Designer, was partly responsible for the design of all substations constructed by the company during this period, from 1916 to 1921...This thesis is an account of the …

Accident Prevention In Cement Plants, Edward Rees Abbott Jan 1924

Accident Prevention In Cement Plants, Edward Rees Abbott

Bachelors Theses

"The cement industry as a whole took up accident prevention work along with the pioneers. With the organization of the Portland Cement Association, a Bureau of Accident Prevention was formed. This Accident Prevention Bureau, by sending out literature, holding competitions, collecting and tabulating results of accidents collected from every cement manufacturer and affiliating with National Safety Council as the Cement Section, has made rapid strides each year, until today it is doubtful if any other branch of manufacturers can show more improvement in accident records than the cement industry. In spite of their marked improvements each year, there were 47 …

Transmission Of Electrical Energy At 220,000 Volts, Robert Wilhelm Ahlquist Jan 1924

Transmission Of Electrical Energy At 220,000 Volts, Robert Wilhelm Ahlquist

Bachelors Theses

"A. E. Silver at the Annual Convention of the A.I.E.E. in 1919 gives some of the reasons why 220,000 Volt transmission is a logical and feasible commercial proposition. He also gives some of the main features of the undertaking...Owing to the great scope of this paper it has been thought necessary to generalize on the discussion of the first two topics and to treat the next two in more detail"--Statement of Scope of this Paper, pages 3-4.

The Gas Fields Of North Webster Parish, Louisiana, Joseph Maple Wilson Jan 1924

The Gas Fields Of North Webster Parish, Louisiana, Joseph Maple Wilson

Conductivity And Ionization Of Certain Salts In Absolute Alcohol, Armin Brene Jewell Jan 1924

Conductivity And Ionization Of Certain Salts In Absolute Alcohol, Armin Brene Jewell

Masters Theses

"One of the most striking observations one makes in connection with the study of the conductivities of alcoholic solutions is their great similiarity [sic] to those of aqueous solutions with the exception that the values of the concentrations are very much smaller. The differences are rather of degree than of kind. It will be noted that as the temperature is increased the molecular conductivity increases and the fraction of salt decreases which is what would be expected by analogy"--Discussion, page 43.
