Bulletin of Gulistan State University

The article is devoted to the study of the initial periods of the ontogenesis of the L. сhinense (dereza, Tibetan barberry, Goji, wolfberry) introduced in the Mirzachul conditions. The periodization was carried out according to the "Ontogenetic Atlas of plants", developed by the leader of L. A. Jukova (2007). When determining the boundaries of the age range of an person, the criteria proposed for flowering plants were used (L. B. Zaugolnova et al., 1988). L. сhinense is a perennial plants, deciduous shrub, reaching 1.2 – 2.0 m in height. The fruit is oblong in shape, 11-27 mm long and 7-11 …

Increasing The Stability Of Explicit Finite-Difference Schemes When Modeling Dynamic Problems Of Thermoelasticity, Aziz Abdukayumovich Kalandarov, Abdukayum Kalandarov

Bulletin of Gulistan State University

The article formulates mathematical and numerical models of thermoelastic processes in the form of dynamic coupled boundary value problems. The related problems of thermoelasticity are one of the important areas of mathematical and computer modeling. The article proposes classical explicit finite-difference relations and a rhombus scheme, which makes it possible to increase the stability of explicit schemes in the numerical solution of coupled dynamic problems of thermoelasticity. As an example, a one-dimensional coupled dynamic problem for isotropic bodies is numerically solved using various explicit finite-difference schemes. A software package has been developed for the numerical solution and visualization of the …

(De)Glossing Financial Aid: Do Colleges And Universities Actually Use Financial Student Aid Jargon?, Zachary W. Taylor, Laura Manor

Journal of Student Financial Aid

Decades of research has suggested that completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can be a complex, difficult process for postsecondary students and their support networks. However, no extant research has informed federal student aid practitioners and researchers as to what federal student aid jargon terms institutions of higher education actually use in their application instructions to complete the FAFSA. To fill this gap in the research, this study adopts a distributional linguistic approach to analyze a random sample of federal student aid application instructions published on institutional websites (.edu) over three years (2017, 2018, and 2019) to …

Another Lesson On Caution In Idr Analysis: Using The 2019 Survey Of Consumer Finances To Examine Income-Driven Repayment And Financial Outcomes, Daniel Collier, Dan Fitzpatrick, Christopher R. Marsicano Jun 2021

Another Lesson On Caution In Idr Analysis: Using The 2019 Survey Of Consumer Finances To Examine Income-Driven Repayment And Financial Outcomes, Daniel Collier, Dan Fitzpatrick, Christopher R. Marsicano

Journal of Student Financial Aid

We update Collier et al. (2021) by using the Survey of Consumer Finances (SCF) 2019 dataset to explore characteristics of enrollees in Income-Driven Repayment (IDR). SCF 2019 is more likely to include borrowers engaged in REPAYE. Findings support an ongoing need to encourage greater IDR participation for lowest-income borrowers and reinforce greater participation by female borrowers. Again, model specification affects findings regarding IDR enrollment. REPAYE appears to have widened access to IDR by lowering the debt floor for entry. IDR enrollment was correlated with less money in a traditional checking account and a lower chance of engaging in retirement savings.

This study examined the leadership principles, practices, and perspectives of Black women principals serving schools that are populated by primarily Black students. A portraiture of the participants' description of their racial and gender identities was conducted using kitchen table talks, to understand how identity development informed their leadership choices. Through the lens of Critical Race Feminism, Black Feminist Pedagogy, and Visionary Pragmatism, I highlight practices that lend to the development of a theoretical focus that speaks directly to the leadership practices of these Black women working in schools that serve Black student populations: Critical Visionary Pragmatism. Findings illuminate the ways …
