A Study To Compare Participants And Nonparticipants In High School Hospitality Cooperative Programs On Selected Employment Factors, Michael Gass

The problem was to determine, on the basis of selected factors, whether there were differences in performance between high school hospitality cooperative education students and students who worked in the hospitality industry but who did not participate in a hospitality program.
The study sample consisted of students from two New Mexico and two Arizona high schools. Fifty-nine of the students were enrolled in 2 hospitality related cooperative education course. The remaining 49 students were working in fac hospitality industry but were not enrolled in a hospitality program.
The following null-hypotheses were tested at the .05 level and accepted:

A primary purpose of this study was to determine the Mach V norms for educators in elementary education, secondary education, guidance and counseling, and educational administration as well as for the group as a whole. A second primary purpose was to investigate the possibility of a relationship between an individual's interpersonal interaction style and his predicted "success" as a school administrator.
The study employed a sample of 226 practicing educators taken from a universe of 758. Building upon the work of Machiavelli, Christie and Geis developed the Mach V Scale which is drawn from their interpersonal interaction model. The Mach …

The purpose of this study was to analyze the portrayal of American Indian characters found in children’s fictional literature. It sought to determine the kinds of characteristics most commonly attributed to American Indians in children’s stories; wether or not misinformation was present; wether or not stereotypes were used; and whether or not there were any changes in characterizations related to time periods. Differences in portrayals by Indian and non-Indian authors and by experienced and less experiences authors were also investigated.

Samples of successful freshmen students voluntarily withdrawing from Campbellsville College were studied and compared to determine the reasons for leaving the College. It was anticipated that findings would help to identify some of the problems involved in student withdrawal, thus giving the College some better understanding with which to proceed in an effort to build retention.
Forty academically successful freshmen of the class 1974- 75 were surveyed using a questionnaire and telephone and personal interview. These students were grouped in three divisions: (1) those who entered with plans to transfer, (2) those who entered with indefinite plans, and (3) those …

The primary purpose of this report is to provide a summary of salary disbursements for instructional personnel at Western for the 1976-77 academic year. The report is designed to provide the typical faculty member with the essential information to obtain a perspective on the manner in which salaries are distributed according to several criteria for the current academic year. Other than a few general comments in the narrative, no attempt has been made to draw inferences from the data or to make policy recommendations.
It should be noted that the data do have limitations (discussed below), and caution should therefore …

The purpose of the study was to compare the perceptions of junior high school principals and middle school principals concerning the aspects affecting conversion of junior high schools to middle schools.
A questionnaire was used to collect responses from junior high school and middle school principals. The questionnaire, designed to elicit data, was mailed to twenty-two junior high school and middle school principals employed in the Albuquerque Public Schools system. The respondents were divided into two groups: (1) junior high school principals, and (2) middle school principals. The latter were further divided to identify middle school principals who had been …
