A Study Of Centralized Technical Services For The Organization Of Learning Resource Materials With Examples From Three Selected School Districts, Marilyn Ann Drengson

All Master's Theses

The purpose of this study was to examine the methods used by three school districts--a small district, a medium-sized district, and a larger district--which have set up centralized technical services for the organization of learning resource materials, thereby relieving the individual librarian within the buildings of certain necessary, but time-consuming tasks. These methods will be set down herein and studied with the possibility in mind that districts which do not now provide these services may find some suggestions to consider in deciding upon the feasibility of such services.

Organizational Change And The Change Agent: A Participant-Observer Study, Ernest Mark Hanson Jr. Sep 1968

Organizational Change And The Change Agent: A Participant-Observer Study, Ernest Mark Hanson Jr.

Teacher Education, Educational Leadership & Policy ETDs

When the federal government's War on Poverty began, it was based on the assumption that economically depressed urban and rural areas could be stimulated into economic activity through the massive use of federal funds. After sufficient time had passed for trends to develop, it was evident that the funds were going into urban areas at the expense of rural areas. This unequal usage of funds existed even though the same types of organizations which could use federal funds were present in both urban and rural areas. A Presidential Task Force selected Sandoval County, New Mexico, as one of three counties …

Secondary Schools In The Sixties: Framework And Organization, Ronald Thomas Fitzgerald

Quarterly Review of Australian Education

This issue of the Quarterly Review of Australian Education Vol 1 No 3 1968 provides an analysis of secondary schooling in Australia. The objective of any educational reform ought to be the creation of a school setting more favourable to the learning process and the complete development of the individual student. At present we know little of what are the optimum conditions under which comprehensive secondary schools in Australia operate and a programme of long-term research into such questions as school size, building and patterns of grouping would prove valuable. Change both subtle and marked is taking place at an …
