Adherence To Weight Control Techniques And Weight Loss: A Case Study, Anthony F. Rotatori, Tom Erekson, Robert A. Fox, Jaime Costellano
College of Education Faculty Research and Publications
A multiple baseline design across four behaviors was used to assess the effectiveness of a self-monitoring behavioral weight reduction program. The four behaviors were (1) the number of arm lifts used to direct food and liquid, other than water, into the mouth, (2) the number of minutes the subject engaged in daily exercise, (3a) the number of meals eaten per day, and (3b) the number of balanced meals eaten per day. The subject involved in this study was a 22-year-old male graduate student who was approximately 25 pounds overweight. At the completion of the study the subject lost a total …

Domestic violence has received increasing attention in recent years as an area of concern for the helping professional. Despite this interest, programs for counseling the batterer are relatively few and counseling interventions for use with this client population are in what could be termed an experimental phase. The purpose of Counseling the Batterer is to review the pertinent literature concerned with counseling the batterer, to explore several programs which have been involved in this effort, and also to design a model group counseling program for abusive males. Physical education in early childhood should be organized, directed, and purposeful. With this criterion as a guideline herewith is offered a general, comprehensive physical education curriculum which includes guidelines in the areas of physical development with a specific proposed physical fitness curriculum which offers a sequential plan of instruction related to the development of the young child and makes available to parents, teachers, and physical education directors, a coordinated program which is useful when working with young children. Winona Campus Life
Winona Campus Life was a weekly laboratory newspaper produced by the WSU Mass Communciation Department students and printed as a supplement to the Sunday Winona Daily News, which began in September 1983. The newspaper provided coverage of the four institutions of higher education in Winona: Winona State University, St. Mary's University, College of Saint Teresa, and Winona Area Vocational-Technical School. It was created to provide a place for Mass Communcation students to publish their articles and photographs with the idea of generating reader feedback, which is essential in journalism education.

A Comparison Of Two Methods Of Presenting Nutrition Education To Senior Citizens Participating In A Congregate Meal Program, Janice M. Williams
Masters Theses
Senior citizens participating in a congregate meal program received nutrition education lessons in two different ways. One group received nutrition lectures, a second group recieved nutrition lectures accompanied by printed material. A third group served as a control. Each group contained an urban and rural site. The nutrition lectures and printed material centered on the Basic Four food groups. The lessons were presented to the subjects once a week in four successive weeks. The length of the nutrition lecture for each food group was twenty minutes. The senior citizen took pre and posttests to measure an increase or decrease in …
