The Need Of Periodic Physical Health Examination For Teachers In Indiana, Eugenia F. Bossong
The Need Of Periodic Physical Health Examination For Teachers In Indiana, Eugenia F. Bossong
Graduate Thesis Collection
The present study is an outgrowth of an interest in the efforts of educators to improve the educational system in the United States of America. Education in the United States has made advancement and is still doing so. The increasing number of junior high schools is indicative of progress in one line. More and better equipped buildings give greater opportunities to the school children today. The school attendance law insures a greater attendance as does also the improved facilities of transportation.
The Status Of Physical Education In The High Schools Of Indiana, Ralph C. Eades
The Status Of Physical Education In The High Schools Of Indiana, Ralph C. Eades
Graduate Thesis Collection
Modern civilization places Physical Education in the high school as one of the foremost problems of secondary-school education. Gradually, this problem, which holds as its center the security and conservation of health, is becoming more and more a community problem.

The City-County Area School Unit Plan Applied In Bartholomew County, Indiana, Marie H. Talley
Graduate Thesis Collection
Our cities have shown remarkable progress in the organization and administration of their school systems, but rural areas have lagged far behind. Modern advancements in transportation no longer leave any excuse for so radical a differentiation in educational service.
Causes Of Irregular Attendance And Truancy In The Indianapolis Public Schools, Carrie B. Martin
Causes Of Irregular Attendance And Truancy In The Indianapolis Public Schools, Carrie B. Martin
Graduate Thesis Collection
The schools realize that they have scarcely touched the problem of attendance due to the fact that the public is not willing to pay for more trained workers. However it is a serious problem and there are many causes underlying the difficulty. Since truancy is the first overt act in violation of the law and irregular attendance is expensive to the system as well as to the children, conditions should be improved as soon as possible and the causes eliminated in so far as it is feasible. A study of conditions is important and urgent.

The Financing Of Education In Homestead Areas, Lester Turnbaugh
University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
Some explanation is necessary of the method of procedure in compiling material for this thesis. The first step was really taken seven years ago. At that time the writer interviewed state officials at Sacramento, California, in the hope of obtaining state aid for educational finance in the Tule Lake section of the Klamath Irrigation Project. The Governor, the department of education, and the finance department were all consulted, but no legal way was discovered of using state money for the erection of school buildings in the district mentioned. Some county money was available for payment of teachers’ salary, but none …
An Outline Course Of Study For The Seventh And Eighth Grades In The Social Studies, George Ellsworth Walston
An Outline Course Of Study For The Seventh And Eighth Grades In The Social Studies, George Ellsworth Walston
University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
The outline course of study in this thesis is offered as a suggested solution of a problem which arises from an effort to adopt for the use of the seventh and eighth grades of elementary schools, books which have been written for use in the junior high school.
The problem arises primarily because the two schools are organized on different plans. The older school is organized upon what is know in educational circles as the 8-4 plan. That is, eight years of study in the elementary and four years in the secondary school. The junior high school was created to …
