For many years teachers have tried various means of educating the entire class to the satisfaction of the pupil, parent, teacher, and administrator. The principle that should be first in the minds of all educators is that optimum growth of the pupil is the schoolst primary objective. Schools are a place of learning where children may have success in their school …

Perceptions Of The Feminine Role And Some Related Problems In Counseling Girls, Lanorjane G. Pauline
Graduate Student Research Papers
Our culture presents many barriers that prevent women from using their intellect for the greatest good. As counselors, we need to begin freeing ourselves from the limits of narrow and inappropriately differentiated masculine and feminine roles. An awareness of the reasons for and the extent of these prejudices will help to understand ourselves and thus the people with whom we work. Through understanding the pressures of our society on the jobs we do, we can gain knowledge enabling us to use more of our intellectual resources and thus to plan better for today while looking to the future.

An Investigation Of Trends Towards Departmentalization In The Elementary Schools, Donald R. Breitenfeldt
Graduate Student Research Papers
There have been many organizational plans, including the departmental, intended to improve the "self-contained classroom" so as to increase the child's intellectual development without hindering his personal-social development. It may be that one or more of the new plans will improve the self-contained classroom. Research evidence, not plain argument, must be relied upon to provide the answers needed. There is very little research evidence to support the claims for any elementary school plan, the self-contained classroom plan not excepted.

The Organization Of A Guidance Program With Emphasis On Human Relations And Inclusion Of Human Relations Classes, Marian Wells Irwin

We live also in a time when scientific reasoning by a staff or team of administrators, teachers, and researchers is not only possible, but encouraged. We live at a time when the factors of group dynamics and individual counseling (6) are being considered as important elements in learning processes. In these things, all of us …
