The Curriculum And A World Point Of View, Harold E. Barto

All Faculty Scholarship for the College of Education and Professional Studies

If a spirit of true international friendship is to be inculcated, we must be taught to recognize the achievements of other peoples; be made to realize that their problems are our problems; and, not least of all, be shown that fundamentally we are more alike than different. Teachers are being asked to educate the new generation to the new social order. However, their efforts both by precept and example will be futile so long as they are bound by a curriculum which is too narrow in scope to meet the demands of modern trends.

Visual Instruction As An Aid In Teaching Geography In The Grammar Grades, Eva May Seivert Jun 1937

Visual Instruction As An Aid In Teaching Geography In The Grammar Grades, Eva May Seivert

Bachelors’ Theses

Visual education, visual instruction, visual aids, visual-sensory aids, etc. are terms rather loosely employed· to label the use of illustrative material and devices in all forms of education. Visual education implies the complete educative process or a distinct subject or purpose classification. Visual aids and visual-sensory aids denote the physical materials and arrangements necessary for the "seeing" experience. Visual instruction emphasizes the value of concrete imagery in the learning process.

The Care Of The Deaf In Wisconsin, Howard H. Tilg

Bachelors’ Theses

Education In American Penal Institutions, Dolores Driscoll Britz May 1937

Education In American Penal Institutions, Dolores Driscoll Britz

Bachelors’ Theses

The humanizing of penal incarceration has during the present century strode forward in an ever increasing upward trend. We no longer see our prisons merely as instruments of an avenging justice, but rather as a hospital instituted to attend the social ills and maladjustments of the individual. Coupled with and supplemented by this socializing process, has come a new emphasis on the importance of education in the penal institution. It is with this aspect of penology that the thesis is concerned.

Due to the youth of the subject, since education in prisons is still in its childhood, there is a …
