A series of results, related to Sonnenschein’s conjecture that Walras’ Law is the only significant restriction microeconomic theory imposes on community demand and excess demand functions are surveyed and extended. These results have important implications for general equilibrium theory, both in questions of existence and stability, and for empirical work.

The 1975 Albuquerque International Balloon Festival and World Hot-Air Balloon Championship generated a significant positive impact on the local economy, establishing the city as a premier global ballooning center. The event injected a total of $1,509,721 into the Albuquerque economy, which includes a $1,006,481 direct impact from participant and spectator spending, magnified by a conservative 1.5 economic multiplier.

Two Pricing Suggestions For Highway Expenditure Analysis: A Critical Review, Scott Edward Hein

The objective of this study is to examine the efficacy of two closely related pricing policy suggestions. These pricing prescriptions, put forth by Herbert Mohring and David Winch, are suggested as a means of achieving an economically efficient allocation of highway facilities and as criteria for efficient highway investment decisions. In the final analysis these suggestions are reviewed within a Pareto optimum framework. The question, then, is: Will an alteration in these prescriptions be such as to make at least some members of the community better off without making any others worse off?
