"Kingdom by the Sea" is a feature-length, theatrical screenplay, modeled on the surrealistic works of Bergman and Fellini. In this country the concepts of experimental theater have seldom been put into a full-length film. This work is intended to help fill that void.

Specifically, this is a love story set in a mythical place called Atlantic Beach. There, the protagonist is seeking the ideal, but when he finds it, he cannot free himself of materialistic desires or needs. In this sense he destroys his utopia and descends into a place called Mog, where the dark side of the ideal dwells. …

I have entered a phase in my life in which I seem to be becoming distanced from the world around me. At this point, the cause does not matter: is it really age? culture? who knows? The change, separation, the forced adaptation brought about by experience is the subject the collection addresses. What happens next when one is set apart from everything, separated even from one's own rational self, by circumstance? The collection explores this phenomenon.

Themes and voice unify these poetic gesture studies of separation, death, memory and illusion. The title poem, "Gesture Studies," introduces the theme separation and …

Nexus is a magazine that began as an insert in the Wright State Guardian student newspaper in 1965 and has since been published semi-regularly. It began only accepting creative writing, but has since expanded to include illustrations, photography and other non-written art forms. Today, it is published in a digital format and accepts submissions from around the country, though it maintains its commitment to the Wright State Community.
