Face Recognition With Neural Networks, Dennis L. Krepp
Face Recognition With Neural Networks, Dennis L. Krepp
Theses and Dissertations
This study investigated neural networks for face verification and classification. The research concentrated on developing a neural network based feature extractor and/or classifier to perform authorized user verification in a realistic work environment. Recognition accuracy, system assumptions, training time, and execution time were analyzed to determine the feasibility of a neural network approach. Data was collected using a camcorder and two segmentation schemes: manual segmentation and motion-based, automatic segmentation. Data consisted of over 2000. 32x32 pixel, 8 bit gray scale images of 52 subjects; each subject had two to ten days worth of images collected. Several training and test sets …

UNF Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Groupware is fast becoming an important part of the computing world. This thesis reviews past history and research in which a group oriented spreadsheet is shown to have a real purpose in today's business world. A group oriented spreadsheet was implemented using a public domain package called The Spreadsheet Calculator. Spreadsheet users and programmers tested the implementation. The results and conclusions of this implementation are also presented.

Programmer And End User Communication In Computer System Development, Theresa J. Hart
Programmer And End User Communication In Computer System Development, Theresa J. Hart
Masters Theses
Many computer professionals agree that good communication between computer programmers or analysts and the people for whom a system is being created is essential for system success. This study researches possible reasons behind the communication problems that exist between programmers and end users and suggests ways to narrow the communication gap.
Many theories, including the theories of hemispheric brain dominance, thinking styles, and motivational factors may help explain the differences in communication styles between programmers and users. To further explore the communication problem, an exploratory survey was given to programmers and users to evaluate their perception of the communication that …
Multiple-Screen Panning System, Abdo Fathy Youssef
Multiple-Screen Panning System, Abdo Fathy Youssef
Theses
There is a need to provide graphics capabilities for the objective of "Group Graphics". This is the ability of a group of humans to work collaboratively on the same diagram. It is the intent of this project to provide some of the fundamental software tools to allow a group of individuals to deal with a "mosaic" form of graphics made up of many separate screens that can be panned and conceptually edited by each individual who is working on portions of the overall document.
Simple tools are provided for the creation of graphics screens as well as saveing and retrieving …
