Approximately 15% of all new marriages in the United States in 2010 were between spouses that shared different racial or ethnic backgrounds from one another. Socha and Diggs (1999) began to examine race as both an outcome of family communication as well as a factor that influences children's communication development in families because of the social pressure multiethnic families endure to fit a nuclear family model. The queer dating and hookup app Grindr evidences a technological and economic intensification in queer spaces online. The dominant modality of capitalist power is no longer consumerist norms but the collection and analysis of data. Grindr’s participation in datafication distributes increased risks upon its queer users and necessitates a renewed politics of queer privacy beyond homonormativity. I name this arrangement of power homoconnectivity and detail four techniques that capitalism deploys to capture and monetize queer social production. Objective: To identify how and why infertility patients’ communication with health care providers relates to their continuity of care within infertility treatment.

Method: A grounded theory analysis was conducted for 25 in-depth interviews across three coding phases, where we remained open to all themes present in the data, narrowed to most prominent themes, and found the connections between the themes.

Results: Based on our identified themes, we created a conceptual model that explains why infertility patients (dis)continued care with one or more clinician. Through this model, we describe two infertility identity transitions for patients: Transition 1: “Infertility as Temporary” to …

Previous research shows that both exclusion and intergroup threat can increase prejudice and biological markers such as cortisol. Exclusion from an outgroup should increase prejudice and cortisol more than similar interactions in an ingroup since it incorporates both exclusion and intergroup threat. Change in cortisol and prejudice was examined in fifty participants who were excluded by either a politically-based ingroup or outgroup. Two t-tests were conducted to examine the change in a) cortisol and b) prejudice as a function of experimental ingroup/outgroup conditions. The concept of positive deviance (PD) has not been studied in the context of nursing. Grounded in narrative inquiry and combined with vocabularies of motive and symbolic interactionism, the purpose of this study was to explore whether PD behaviors existed in nursing, and if so, to develop an operational definition of PD for nursing. The research question addressed what PD behaviors, if any, were present in nurses’ workplace stories. The goal of this thesis was to further the literature on mother-in-law/daughter-in-law relationships by directly employing Communication Accommodation Theory (CAT) to examine relationships between categories of accommodation and relational quality in these relationships. Daughters-in-law (N= 677) were solicited via private Facebook groups to complete an online survey regarding accommodation (their own and their mothers-in-law’s), their feelings of shared family identity, and their relationship satisfaction in their relationship with their mothers-in-law. Results demonstrated relationships between mothers-in-law’s accommodation, overaccommodation, and underaccommodation of their daughters-in-law and daughters-in-law’s feelings of shared family identify and relationship satisfaction. The present set of studies examined media multiplexity theory (MMT; Haythornthwaite, 2005) in the context of student-instructor out-of-class communication (OCC) in two samples: undergraduate and graduate students. It was predicted that student-instructor tie strength (closeness) would lead to a greater number of modes used for OCC, and subsequently, the number of modes used for OCC would predict positive classroom outcomes, including communication satisfaction, cognitive and affective learning, and motivation. Therefore, researchers should attempt to better understand how these variables as well as other social and cognitive variables, affect the communication competence of students. The researcher administered a questionnaire to 392 college students from a private medium-sized West Coast university using various modified scales examining student-to-student confirmation, social support through social media, online video viewing, self-esteem, personal reports of public speaking anxiety, and communication competence. การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์จัดกลุ่มและอธิบายรูปแบบการดำเนินชีวิตของผู้หญิงก่อนวัยผู้สูงอายุ รวมถึงเพื่อสำรวจการเปิดรับข่าวสารเกี่ยวกับผลิตภัณฑ์ด้านสุขภาพ การเงินและที่อยู่อาศัยของผู้หญิงก่อนวัยผู้สูงอายุ เป็นการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ ด้วยวิธีการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ โดยใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือในการเก็บข้อมูลจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้หญิง อายุ 45-59 ปี อาศัยอยู่ในกรุงเทพมหานครและปริมณฑล จำนวน 410 คน และทำการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลทางสถิติด้วยการวิเคราะห์เชิงพรรณนา (Descriptive Analysis) และการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบ (Factor Analysis) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า รูปแบบการดำเนินชีวิตของผู้หญิงก่อนวัยผู้สูงอายุ สามารถแบ่งได้เป็น 9 กลุ่ม ดังนี้ 1. กลุ่มดูดีมีระดับ 2. กลุ่มวางแผนชีวิตพิชิตเป้าหมาย 3. กลุ่มจิตใจเอื้อเฟื้อช่วยเหลือสังคม 4. กลุ่มกล้าคิดกล้าตัดสินใจ 5. กลุ่มทันยุคทันสมัย 6. กลุ่มสาวแกร่ง 7. กลุ่มเติบโตอย่างมั่นคง 8. กลุ่มสบาย ๆ ใส่ใจตัวเอง 9. กลุ่มอนุรักษ์นิยม การเปิดรับข่าวสารเพื่อการเตรียมตัวเข้าสู่วัยผู้สูงอายุ พบว่า ผู้หญิงก่อนวัยผู้สูงอายุเปิดรับข่าวสารเกี่ยวกับผลิตภัณฑ์ด้านสุขภาพโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก ผลิตภัณฑ์ด้านการเงินโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง และผลิตภัณฑ์ด้านที่อยู่อาศัยโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง ทั้งนี้ ผู้หญิงก่อนวัยผู้สูงอายุมีการเปิดรับข่าวสารเกี่ยวกับผลิตภัณฑ์ด้านสุขภาพ และการเงินผ่านสื่อใหม่อยู่ในระดับมาก ขณะที่ผลิตภัณฑ์ด้านที่อยู่อาศัยมีการเปิดรับข่าวสารผ่านสื่อใหม่อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง

งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้มุ่งศึกษาลักษณะของผู้ก่อการร้ายที่ตัวละครวายร้ายสะท้อนในภาพยนตร์ซูเปอร์ฮีโร การสร้างความโรแมนติกให้กับตัวละครวายร้าย และ สัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้ก่อการร้ายและตัวละครวายร้าย โดยอาศัยแนวคิดการก่อการร้าย แนวคิดโรแมนติกนิยมและการสร้างตัวละคร และ แนวคิดภาพตัวแทนและการจำลอง เพื่อวิเคราะห์ตัวบท (Textual Analysis) ของภาพยนตร์ซูเปอร์ฮีโรดังต่อไปนี้ Avengers: Age of Ultron Captain America: Civil War Black Panther Avengers: Infinity War และ Endgame และ Aquaman ผลการศึกษาพบว่าตัวละครวายร้ายในภาพยนตร์ซูเปอร์ฮีโรเป็นภาพตัวแทนของผู้ก่อการร้ายที่มีความโรแมนติกและความเป็นมนุษย์มากขึ้น ขัดแย้งกับความเชื่อที่ผิดเกี่ยวกับผู้ก่อการร้ายที่แพร่หลาย ภาพของผู้ก่อการร้ายจึงสอดคล้องกับความเป็นจริงมากขึ้น นอกจากนี้ตัวละครวายร้ายยังนำเสนอคุณค่าและปัญหาทางสังคมที่เป็นที่สนใจในสังคมสมัยใหม่ เช่น การเหยียดชาติพันธุ์ การทำลายสิ่งแวดล้อม การใช้ความรุนแรง ฯลฯ ตัวละครวายร้ายที่มีความโรแมนติกยังสะท้อนการถดถอยของความเชื่อมั่นที่สาธารณะมีต่อระบบและสถาบันทางการปกครองที่มีแนวคิดอนุรักษ์นิยม อย่างไรก็ตามภาพยนตร์ซูเปอร์ฮีโรยังคงนำเสนอแนวคิดพัฒนาการนิยมแบบฉาบฉวยและสนับสนุนแนวคิดอนุรักษ์นิยมที่มีความเสี่ยงต่อการทำให้ผู้ชมนิ่งเฉยหรือต่อต้านการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคม ความย้อนแย้งระหว่างอนุรักษ์นิยมและพัฒนาการนิยมนี้อาจเป็นผลมาจากความพยายามของผู้ผลิตในการสร้างความหลากหลายให้แก่ตัวละครให้สอดคล้องสังคมปัจจุบันเพื่อขยายกลุ่มผู้ชมและผลประโยชน์ทางการเงิน อนึ่งแนวคิดและทฤษฎีทางด้านความงามเช่น ทวินิยม และ กลวิธีการเล่าเรื่องสามารถเสริมสร้างความรู้สึกสมจริงให้แก่ภาพตัวแทนและส่งเสริมการมีส่วนร่วมทางอารมณ์ที่ผู้บริโภคมีต่อภาพตัวแทน

งานวิจัยนี้เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Research) มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษากระบวนการสร้างสรรค์เนื้อหาของรายการ Loukgolf’s English Room ที่พัฒนาจากสื่อสารการแสดง และเพื่อศึกษาการรับรู้ การใช้ประโยชน์ ความพึงพอใจ ของผู้ชมที่มีต่อการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษและการใช้ชีวิตในรายการ Loukgolf’s English Room โดยใช้การวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา (Content Analysis) คลิปวิดีโอรายการ Loukgolf’s English Room ที่ออกอากาศตั้งแต่เดือนมกราคม-ธันวาคม พ.ศ.2562 รวมจำนวนทั้งหมด 47 ตอน การสัมภาษณ์ผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลักจากกลุ่มผู้ผลิตรายการ (Key Informants) และการสนทนาแบบกลุ่ม (Focus group) กับกลุ่มผู้ชมรายการจำนวน 12 คน ที่เคยรับชมรายการตั้งแต่ 12 ตอนขึ้นไป ผลการวิจัยพบว่า รายการ Loukgolf’s English Room เป็นรายการเอดูเทนเมนต์ที่เรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษผ่านการสนทนาระหว่างพิธีกรและแขกรับเชิญ ซึ่งแขกรับเชิญเป็นบุคคลที่มีชื่อเสียงทั้งในและนอกวงการบันเทิง โดยการคัดเลือกประเด็นที่นำเสนอจะพิจารณาจากความน่าสนใจและมีประโยชน์จากเรื่องราวของแขกรับเชิญ และจัดลำดับเรื่องที่นำเสนอด้วยการเรียงตามลำดับเวลาหรือช่วงเวลาที่สำคัญในชีวิตของแขกรับเชิญ ซึ่งเมื่อผู้วิจัยได้วิเคราะห์ลักษณะเนื้อหารายการพบว่า เนื้อหารายการส่วนใหญ่เป็นเรื่องการทำงานของแขกรับเชิญมากที่สุด นอกจากนี้พิธีกรยังมีทักษะในการสื่อสารการแสดง เช่น การจัดการความคิด จินตนาการ และอารมณ์ความรู้สึก การจัดการภาษากาย และการจัดการใช้เสียง รวมถึงวิธีการสอนภาษาอังกฤษของพิธีกรที่มักจะสอดแทรกในระหว่างการพูดคุยกับแขกรับเชิญ ทั้งนี้จากการสนทนากลุ่มผู้ชมทั้ง 2 กลุ่ม พบว่า ผู้ชมมีการรับรู้ด้านเนื้อหาเรื่องของภาษาอังกฤษและข้อคิดที่ได้จากพิธีกรและแขกรับเชิญ ส่วนการนำไปใช้ประโยชน์และความพึงพอใจของผู้ชมมี 6 ด้าน คือ 1) การได้รับข้อมูลข่าวสารและคำแนะนำต่าง ๆ 2) การลดความรู้สึกไม่มั่นใจในตัวเอง 3) การเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับสังคมและโลกกว้าง 4) เพื่อจะได้หาความรู้พื้นฐานในการติดต่อสัมพันธ์กับผู้คน 5) เพื่อฆ่าเวลา และ 6) เพื่อหาแบบแผนในการดำเนินชีวิต

กลยุทธ์การสื่อสารผ่านสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้ทรงอิทธิพลออนไลน์ด้านความงาม, ภัทรสร หัวใจฉ่ำ

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษากลยุทธ์การสื่อสารผ่านสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้ทรงอิทธิพลออนไลน์ด้านความงาม และศึกษาทัศนะของกลุ่มผู้หญิงวัยทำงานตอนต้นที่มีต่อการสื่อสารผ่านสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้ทรงอิทธิพลออนไลน์ด้านความงามโดยมีรูปแบบการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยแบ่งการศึกษาออกเป็น 3 วิธี คือ วิธีการสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึก (In-depth Interview) กับผู้ทรงอิทธิพลออนไลน์ด้านความงามจำนวน 3 ท่าน ที่มีการสื่อสารข้อมูลด้านความงามผ่านสื่อสังคมออนไลน์สามช่องทางหลัก ได้แก่ เฟซบุ๊ก (Facebook) อินสตาแกรม (Instagram) และยูทูบ (YouTube) และมีผู้ติดตามทั้งสามช่องทางจำนวน 100,000-1,000,000 คน ร่วมกับการวิจัยเชิงเอกสาร (Documentary Research) เกี่ยวกับสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้ทรงอิทธิพลออนไลน์ด้านความงามทั้งสามช่องทางของทั้งสามท่านประกอบกัน และการศึกษาทัศนะของกลุ่มผู้หญิงวัยทำงานตอนต้นด้วยวิธีการสนทนากลุ่ม (Focus Group) โดยผู้ร่วมสนทนากลุ่มเป็นเพศหญิง มีอายุระหว่าง 25-28 ปี จำนวน 11 ท่าน ผลการวิจัยพบว่าผู้ทรงอิทธิพลออนไลน์ด้านความงามทั้งสามท่านใช้กลยุทธ์การสื่อสารผ่านสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ด้านการออกแบบเนื้อหาในสองแบบ กล่าวคือ การนำเสนอเนื้อหาที่สื่อสารเอกลักษณ์ของผู้ทรงอิทธิพลออนไลน์ด้านความงาม และการสร้างปฏิสัมพันธ์และการตอบสนองความต้องการของผู้ติดตามที่มีต่อเนื้อหา ส่วนกลวิธีการนำเสนอเนื้อหานั้น ผู้ทรงอิทธิพลออนไลน์ด้านความงามทั้งสามท่านให้ความสำคัญกับการใช้ถ้อยคำภาษาในการสื่อสาร รวมถึงเทคนิคด้านภาพและเสียง ส่วนทัศนะของกลุ่มผู้หญิงวัยทำงานตอนต้นที่มีต่อการสื่อสารผ่านสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้ทรงอิทธิพลออนไลน์ด้านความงาม พบว่าแบ่งออกเป็น 5 ทัศนะ ได้แก่ทัศนะเกี่ยวกับการนำเสนอเนื้อหา (Content) เฉพาะตัวเฉพาะเรื่อง ที่มีจุดเด่นน่าสนใจ ทัศนะเกี่ยวกับบุคลิกภาพที่มีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัว และการออกแบบเนื้อหาที่สะท้อนเอกลักษณ์ของผู้ทรงอิทธิพลออนไลน์ด้านความงาม ทัศนะเกี่ยวกับการแสดงความจริงใจในการรีวิวสินค้า ทัศนะเกี่ยวกับกลวิธีการนำเสนอด้วยการใช้ภาษา ภาพ และเสียง และทัศนะเกี่ยวกับเหตุผลในการเลือกเสพเนื้อหาความงามผ่านช่องทางการสื่อสารออนไลน์ที่ต่างกัน

การศึกษากระบวนการตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงของข้อมูลข่าวสารในสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้สูงอายุ มีวัตถุประสงค์การศึกษา ประการแรก เพื่ออธิบายกระบวนการตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงของข้อมูลข่าวสารในสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้สูงอายุ ประการที่สอง เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางในการเสริมสร้างความรู้เรื่องกระบวนการตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงของข้อมูลข่าวสารในสื่อสังคมออนไลน์สำหรับผู้สูงอายุ การศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ใช้วิธีวิจัยแนวทางปรากฏการณ์วิทยา มีวิธีการเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเฉพาะเจาะจง และ คัดเลือกจากการสังเกตการณ์ออนไลน์ เก็บข้อมูลจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างสองกลุ่ม กลุ่มแรก ผู้สูงอายุที่มีอายุเทียบเท่าตั้งแต่ 60 ปีขึ้นไป เคยมีประสบการณ์การใช้งานสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ และมีแสดงออกถึงการตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงของข้อมูลข่าวสารในสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ โดยใช้การสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก และการสังเกตการณ์อย่างไม่มีส่วนร่วม รวมกลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้สูงอายุที่ศึกษา 12 คน กลุ่มที่สอง ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงของข้อมูลข่าวสาร จำนวน 4 คน และผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านผู้สูงอายุ จำนวน 4 คน รวมทั้งสิ้น 8 คน โดยใช้การสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกในการเก็บข้อมูล ผลการศึกษาพบว่า กระบวนการตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงของข้อมูลข่าวสารในสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้สูงอายุเป็นกระบวนการที่มีการตรวจสอบด้วย 2 ขั้นตอนหลัก ซึ่งเรียงลำดับจาก 1) การตรวจสอบด้วยแหล่งข้อมูลในตัวผู้สูงอายุ (Internal source) และเมื่อผู้สูงอายุยังคงไม่แน่ใจความถูกต้อง จะนำไปสู่กระบวนการ 2) การตรวจสอบด้วยแหล่งข้อมูลภายนอกผู้สูงอายุ (External source) นอกจากนั้น หลังจากกระบวนการตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงของข้อมูลแล้ว ผู้วิจัยพบว่ามีกระบวนการหลังการตรวจสอบ คือ การหักล้างข้อมูลเท็จ (Debunking) และผู้วิจัยได้วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกผู้สูงอายุโดยพบ ปัจจัยที่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องกับกระบวนการตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงของข้อมูลข่าวสารของผู้สูงอายุ ได้แก่ ประเด็นความสะดวก การประกอบอาชีพในอดีต ปัญหาด้านสุขภาพ และความรู้จากการอมรมสัมมนาและสถาบันที่มีความรู้ ส่วนแนวทางในการเสริมสร้างความรู้เรื่องกระบวนการตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงของข้อมูลข่าวสารในสื่อสังคมออนไลน์สำหรับผู้สูงอายุ พบว่า มีแนวทางในการพัฒนา คือ ในเชิงการใช้สื่อบุคคลส่งเสริมผู้สูงอายุพบว่า ผู้เชี่ยวชาญ และบุคคลที่มีความใกล้ชิด เป็นสื่อบุคคลที่สามารถสื่อสารกับผู้สูงอายุได้มีประสิทธิภาพ ในเชิงการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ การอบรม การสร้างห้องเรียนฝึกทักษะ โดยการมีผู้เชี่ยวชาญเฉพาะด้านจะทำให้ผู้สูงอายุเปลี่ยนทัศนคติและนำข้อมูลไปใช้ในการตรวจสอบได้ ในเชิงการส่งเสริมภาพลักษณะของผู้สูงอายุ โดยเสนอว่า การตอกย้ำภาพผู้สูงอายุในฐานะผู้ทำผิด เป็นตัวปัญหา ไม่ใช่วิธีที่ดีในการส่งเสริมหรือแก้ไขปัญหาสำหรับผู้สูงอายุ และสุดท้ายคือในเชิงการดูแลและปรับปรุงเนื้อหาในสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ให้เหมาะสม ด้วยการสร้างแหล่งข้อมูลที่น่าเชื่อถือชุดอื่น ๆ ที่มีความน่าเชื่อถือ มากกว่าการให้ผู้สูงอายุเปิดรับข่าวสารจากการส่งต่อกันมา เป็นต้น

This study discusses Facebook as a social network site and a social media application. It compares perceived emotional support, general life stress, and media affordance-based stress from two participant samples - one that reported using the Facebook desktop site most frequently to reach out for emotional support, and one that reported using the mobile application.

The media affordance measure asked participants if perceiving a media affordance was more likely to increase or decrease their stress.
