Albert Dupont 1872-1940: The French Accounting Historian, Ernest Stevelinck Oct 1986

Albert Dupont 1872-1940: The French Accounting Historian, Ernest Stevelinck

Accounting Historians Notebook

To return to the article by Previts and Garner, I want to demystify the "mysterious contributor", Albert Dupont. His father, Louis Dupont, was a wholesaler in textiles. Louis was born in the "Pays d'Auge en Calvados" but he left his native countryside when he was 20 years old, for Rouen, capital of linen. Later he moved to Paris where, in 1850, he founded his own commercial house. In 1857, Louis Dupont married Miss Chocquet, the daughter of Alphonse Chocquet, director at the "Poste de la Seine", whose father had been himself chief of the "Service des Postes pour l'Etranger" during …

Biorhythms And Industrial Injuries, James Vincent Detitta Sep 1986

Biorhythms And Industrial Injuries, James Vincent Detitta

Theses

The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not a relationship exists between the time of an industrial injury and a specific position on the biorhythm scale known as a critical day.

Ninety-six employees who worked at the E. I. du Pont de Nemours Plant in Parlin, New Jersey served as a test group during 1980. In order to determine if a relationship did exist, the subjects' biorhythmic cycles for 1980 were charted and then their injury performance was monitored during that year to see if the injury date corresponded with a critical day. An additional test was …

Scheduling To A Common Due Date On Parallel Uniform Processors, Hamilton Emmons Aug 1986

Scheduling To A Common Due Date On Parallel Uniform Processors, Hamilton Emmons

Research Reports from the Department of Operations

We consider scheduling a set of jobs on parallel processors, when all jobs have a common due date and earliness and lateness are penalized at different cost rates. For identical processors, the secondary criteria of minimizing makespan and machine occupancy are addressed. The extension to different, uniform processors is also solved.

A Comparison Of The Classification Accuracy Of Linear And Quadratic Statistical Discriminant Models Versus Linear And Quadratic Programming Discriminant Models, Jerry William Ferry Aug 1986

A Comparison Of The Classification Accuracy Of Linear And Quadratic Statistical Discriminant Models Versus Linear And Quadratic Programming Discriminant Models, Jerry William Ferry

Graduate Theses and Dissertations

The purpose of this research was to compare the classification accuracy of two mathematical programming models versus traditional statistical discriminant analysis. Monte Carlo techniques were used to compute population 1, population 2, and average misclassification rates for the linear discriminant function (LDF), the quadratic discriminant function (QDF), a linear programming discriminant model (LPDM), and a quadratic programming discriminant model (QPDM) for specific values of several parameters which affect discriminant analysis. This study was restricted to the two group, two variable discriminant problem.

Natural resources published reports

Kununurra Region

3rd edition

A small experimental farm was first established on the Ord River in 1941. This farm was relocated in 1945 to what is now known as the Frank Wise Institute of Tropical Agriculture.

The first stage of the Irrigation Scheme which included the Diversion dam was completed by 1963 and by 1966, 31 irrigated farms had been established.

In 1967 the second stage was commenced and by 1972 the main dam had been completed.

Cotton was the major crop until 1974. In the wet season of that year 3642 hectares was devoted to cotton. Various crops such …
