The Effects Of An Experiential Based Instructional Program For Exploring Vocations In Emerging And New Technologies As Reflected By Student Growth In Career Maturity, Hilton A. Seay

The purpose of this study was to determine if participation in an experiential based instructional program for exploring vocations in emerging and new technologies would enable academically able high school juniors and seniors to attain increased maturity of attitudes and competency in career decision-making skills as measured by the Career Maturity Inventory. A total of 64 students participated in the study. Participants came from a pool of 132 junior and senior high school students identified as having a grade point average that placed them in the top thirty percent of their class. The finances of the City of Boston have been variously affected throughout its long history by regional and national economic cycles, by legal constraints and changes in the state-local tax system and by inter-municipal resource and expenditure disparities.

In more recent years, however, a series of tremors converged to propel Boston's seemingly chronic fiscal problem to the crisis stage. As inflation climbed to unprecedented double-digit levels, an overwhelming majority of the state's populace supported specific limits on property taxes, the primary source of municipal revenue. Cost-Benefit Analysis Of Computer Systems In Community Hospital Food Service, Beverly Kittle

Cost containment has always been a major concern to managers. Therefore, any system which decreases costs by reducing labor time is given serious evaluation.

A five week comparison was made between financial record keeping by the manual method and by the computerized method. A continuous time study was utilized to make this comparison.

Over the five weeks, an average overall time savings of 245 minutes for the computerized versus the manual method was observed. The net savings to the institution was 223 minutes per week which translates to approximately $140.00 per month over a 5 year period.

The importance of identifying the competencies needed by energy managers is reflected in the seriousness of the energy problem and the impact it has on the industrial setting. The newness and ambiguity of EM, coupled with the increasing importance of the concept, add to the need for identifying the necessary competencies required in managing energy.

Ideally, once these competencies are identified, they should be the focus of those educational curriculums designed to produce energy managers. Currently there are only 25 post-high school institutions in the U.S. that have energy management curriculums (The College Blue Book, 1981). Less than half of …
