The Dramatic Technique Of John Galsworthy, Othmar A. Bittman Jun 1925

The Dramatic Technique Of John Galsworthy, Othmar A. Bittman

Bachelors’ Theses

Almost a score of years before Ibsen ushered in the New Drama with his monumental series of social dramas, he said: "The experience of all countries has sufficiently established the fact that dramatic art, in every age in which it has been cultivated, has in a higher degree than any other, shown itself an important factor in the education of the people--a very obvious explanation of which fact is to be found in the drama1 s more intimate and direct relation to reality; in other words, in its greater intelligibility and in its easier and more general accessibility to the …

Political Organization Of The Plains Indians, With Special Reference To The Council, Maurice Greer Smith Apr 1925

Political Organization Of The Plains Indians, With Special Reference To The Council, Maurice Greer Smith

University Studies (University of Nebraska) (1888–1984)

Next to sociological field work, ... there are within this branch of study no other investigations so urgently needed as monographs on some definite class of social phenomena or institutions among a certain group of related tribes. But at the same time a comparative study suffers from defects which seem wellnigh inseparable from the prosecution of so great a task. A social institution is not an isolated phenomenon, but is closely connected with a variety of facts. It is …

The Works Council, George J. Bottkol Jun 1924

The Works Council, George J. Bottkol

Bachelors’ Theses

The Works Council idea is somewhat of an innovation in American industry. It received its greatest impetus during the World War and has sinoe been adopted by many of our largest industries. Although all Works Council plans aim at the fundamental principles of joint management, employee representation, and collective bargaining, the forms or constitutions of the various private Councils vary in detail.

The Influence Of Virgil's "Aeneid" On Subsequent Literature, Mary Gertrude Quirk Jun 1924

The Influence Of Virgil's "Aeneid" On Subsequent Literature, Mary Gertrude Quirk

Bachelors’ Theses

In a study of the lives of great men it is interesting to trace the circumstances that have affected them most deeply. Moreover, when men are united in any undertaking, howsoever insignificant, a bond of sympathy is established among them. Common ends and common purposes create a feeling of comradeship, an esprit de corps that lends grace to the …
