The Role Of Rio Grande Do Sul In Brazilian Politics, 1930-1967., Carlos E. CortéS
The Role Of Rio Grande Do Sul In Brazilian Politics, 1930-1967., Carlos E. CortéS
History ETDs
Rio Grande do Sul traditionally has been Brazil's third most powerful state and has spawned an impressive number of national political leaders. For more than twenty-three of the thirty-eight years since the 1930 revolution, the Brazilian president has been a Riograndense, including current President Arthur da Costa e Silva. This dissertation focuses on the role of this state in Brazilian politics from the Rio Grande-led 1930 revolution, which terminated the First Republic, through the 1964 revolution. which overturned the national government of Riograndense João Goulart. There is also a short discussion of the impact of the 1964 revolution on Rio …

The Church In Your House- A Study Into The Form And Function Of The Primitive Church, Paul Biegner
The Church In Your House- A Study Into The Form And Function Of The Primitive Church, Paul Biegner
Master of Sacred Theology Thesis
A search for new forms of church and new patterns of ministry and mission has occupied parts of the church in the western world for the past ten years or so. Both the concern for the doctrine of the church and for the cutting edge of mission dominate the search for new forms. That search has yielded varied patterns, many of which utilize face-to-face contact in smaller groups to meet the challenges of mass-man in a depersonalized society. Some of these new forms of church and church ministry and mission have claimed a relationship to “the church in your house”.

Activities Of I.G. Farbenindustrie In The United States, 1929 Until March 11, 1942, William C. Neubauer
Honors Theses
The activities of I. G. Farbenindustrie in the United
States afforded Americans the opportunity to observe Third
Reich activities as they existed in pre-war America. This preview
of Naziism in America helped unite popular opinion against
Hitler. It is the purpose of this paper to point out the origins
of such a system in this country, the conditions which nurtured
its growth, characteristics of the system, and the steps which
lead to the collapse of the system. The lack of a detai]ed and
determined policy by the Germans prevented their utilization of
I. G. Farbenindustrie to its upmost strategic value …

Differences In Anglo-American Policy On The Strategic Bombardment Of Germany During World War Ii, 1943-1944, Eugene G. Venable
History ETDs
The different strategic bombing policies of the Royal Air Force (R.A.F.) and the United States Army Air Force (U.S.A.A.F.) toward Germany, 1943-1944, were both basic and important. As a part of the Anglo-American coalition of World War II, these differences persisted in spite of vigorous efforts for their solution. Only when the Anglo-American air forces realized the precariousness of their position in favor of strategic bombardment did they seriously attempt to modify their disagreement over policy. Even this action, however, was taken superficially. The bombing differences were largely confined to target selection. R.A. F. Bomber Command, led by Air Marshal …

One of the questions most frequently asked me since my return from Heshbon has been "What did you find?" The questioner, of course, refers to "objects," even though he may not use the word. He probably expects to hear that valuable hoards of jewelry or coins have been unearthed, or that inscriptions or manuscripts rich in historical information have been discovered. If such are the questioner's expectations, he may be somewhat disappointed, since at most Near Eastern archeological sites, inscriptions are rarities and objects made of precious metals are seldom found.

A modern archeological expedition is no treasure hunt. The serious archeologist of today is not interested primarily in finding museum pieces or works of ancient art. His foremost interest lies in the reconstruction of the history of the site he excavates, although he does not despise the objects of utility, warfare, art, or craftsmanship which in the process of his archeological work come to light.
