Winona Campus Life
Winona Campus Life was a weekly laboratory newspaper produced by the WSU Mass Communciation Department students and printed as a supplement to the Sunday Winona Daily News, which began in September 1983. The newspaper provided coverage of the four institutions of higher education in Winona: Winona State University, St. Mary's University, College of Saint Teresa, and Winona Area Vocational-Technical School. It was created to provide a place for Mass Communcation students to publish their articles and photographs with the idea of generating reader feedback, which is essential in journalism education.

Creativity In Science, Ursula W. Goodenough
Biology Faculty Research
Creativity is a concept far more often associated with art than with science. The creative dimension of scientific inquiry and practice is described and compared with its artistic counterpart; similarities and differences are analyzed.
She presented this paper at the Thirty-Seventh Annual Star Island Conference of the Institute on Religion in an Age of Science (IRAS), “Creativity, Non-Conformity, and Madness” at Star Island, New Hampshire, 28 July-4 August 1990.

On Sport and Society
The President of Florida State University, Dr. Dale Lick resigned last week after controversy surrounding his candidacy for the presidency of Michigan State University. That controversy stemmed from comments he had once made concerning the Black Athlete, in which he said that Black athletes were naturally superior to whites, as they were able to jump higher than whites, citing the evidence of basketball performance to demonstrate his point.

The Poetry Of Li-Young Lee: Identity, Androgyny & Feminism, Barbara Qualls
The Poetry Of Li-Young Lee: Identity, Androgyny & Feminism, Barbara Qualls
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
In my investigation of Li-Young Lee's poetry, my concerns were two-fold: first, to find evidence of an androgynous quality or ideal; secondly, to demonstrate that ideal as authentically feminist. In the introduction, I investigate the feminist debate about the traditional definition and concept of androgyny, demonstrating the difference between the patriarchal traditional androgyny and the androgynous elements in Lee's poetry.
In Chapter Two, the rose as image and as symbol in Lee's poetry is examined and found to be strikingly androgynous as a symbol. As an image, however, it is more often than not used as a vehicle to describe …

Though it was only superficial, the lesion on the three-year old's arm looked sinister. Oddly symmetrical and oval, it looked like a pinkish field of delicate needlepricks on the pudgy arm and elbow, oozing a little and forming a crust the color of lemon yogurt on the edges. The child sniffled as Sandra gently explored his injury. His cheekswere still red from bawling.

The Midwest Quarterly: A Journal of Contemporary Thought
How should literary critics accomplish their necessary judgments? Robert Penn Warren, though marginalized by some historians of literary criticism in the twentieth century, has, in D. G. MYERS's opinion, an important contribution to our understanding of the discipline. Professor of English at Texas A & M University, Myers has published articles on the history and theory of criticism in a number of journals and is completing a book on the history of creative writing in American literary education.
TERRY WHITE explores the writings of three contemporary authors on the nature of the choices humans face when confronted with evil. Assistant …
