European right-wing populist (RWP) parties are increasingly touting their attention to women’s issues and representation, and this has coincided with stronger electoral performances. Thus, the following puzzles emerge: how have RWP parties harnessed gender frames, issue salience, and women’s representation as part of a mainstreaming process, and through what mechanisms are these strategies resonating with voters? I address these questions by comparing France’s Rassemblement National (RN) and Italy’s Fratelli d’Italia (FdI), tracing their developments from the mid-twentieth century to the present day. This thesis focuses on the intersections of collaborative and artistic interventions (such as collective songwriting and poetry) within the ongoing fight to legalize and decriminalize street vending in Los Angeles. Through the close partnership with Community Power Collective (CPC), this thesis analyzes the use of narrative in artistic collaborations and oral traditions throughout the political mobilization of street vendors in Los Angeles. This study sought to understand the effectiveness of restorative leadership development and coaching in parent or caregiver differentiation of self in chronically conflicted family systems experiencing chronic absenteeism or truancy. This mixed method study employed a program evaluation approach that examines parent pre- and post-survey results after engaging with The Parent Line over nine weeks. The evolution of institutions in selecting government officials in ancient China reflected efficiency considerations and increased power concentration in the hands of the ruler. Selecting government officials in ancient China became more rule‐based over time, and standardisation and centralisation were some key features of this process. In this dynamic model, a higher volume of transactions, shown as the number of candidates needed to be evaluated, leads to institutionalisation, which has a higher fixed cost but a lower marginal cost in processing each transaction. In the steady state, a ruler with a more encompassing interest chooses a higher level of institutionalisation. …

In drought-prone regions of Eastern Ethiopia, recurring droughts profoundly reshape everyday life in ways that deepen existing gendered inequalities. Drawing on fieldwork conducted in Fedis district, including semi-structured interviews with women, project implementers, and government officials, as well as group discussions with community members, this study explores how women experience, navigate, and resist the gendered impacts of drought. By attending to the sociopolitical dynamics of drought and the development interventions that accompany it, I analyze how these forces restructure labor, land, food systems, and authority in ways that reproduce and exacerbate existing inequalities. A vast assemblage of networked devices populate our everyday spaces. Concomitant with the increasing ubiquity of media devices are advertisements. Indeed, many networked devices, specifically the “free-to-use” software applications, websites, or platforms displayed through them, are advertising-dependent. An assortment of firms within the commercial media industry—brands, agencies, publishers, vendors—work in concert to sustain a market for advertising. The core operation of the commercial media industry, I argue, is the production and exchange of attention as an economic object. This paper explores the experiences of principal characters in Mohsin Hamid’s novel Exit West, particularly the woman protagonist Nadia, as they battle with displacement and assimilation. The novel highlights the challenges faced by Nadia, a migrant woman, as she navigates through constant mobility and cultural adaptation. This continuous movement engenders a similar fluidity in her sexual orientation as she searches for a home. Nadia represents the “inessential woman” of Elizabeth Spelman’s book of the same name, a woman who is othered by White, middle-class feminists who may view Muslim women as shackled by heterosexuality and religious sanctions. Scholars have highlighted Thomas Carlyle’s “Occasional Discourse on the Negro Question” (1849) as a point of no return for Carlyle’s descent into a full-throated advocacy of racism, imperialism, and proto-fascism. His 1843 article “Dr. Francia” on the late Paraguayan dictator has garnered much less critical attention than the provocative “Occasional Discourse,” but it simultaneously anticipates the latter essay and offers an alternative representation of Carlyle’s ideas—and Victorian ideas more generally— about shifting categories of race and imperialism before they congealed. Jules Perrot and Jean Coralli’s choreography of Giselle’s wilis continues to influence the essentialized femininity in Ballet Blanc. The folkloric víla origins of the wilis create a direct contradiction to the archetypal ballet woman. The celebrated story of Ballet Blanc’s Giselle conflates the Slavic origins and wili characteristics, while simultaneously abandoning key characteristics of the Slavic víla. Antonia Dougherty’s thesis endeavors to unify these distinct components of the víla and their symbology so that a gender critical analysis of the essentialized femininity of Ballet Blanc’s Giselle may be explored. This thesis presents a body-based, lineage-informed approach to movement development into dance, honoring both scientific and spiritual knowledge systems. It engages in a blend of qualitative, embodied, and autoethnographic methods—including dance studies, developmental science, phenomenology, and cultural analysis—to examine how movement emerges, evolves, and carries meaning. Grounded in my lived experience as a dancer, mother, and Black woman, this research frames the body as both a site and source of knowledge. Premenstrual Disorders (PMDs) profoundly impact women’s daily lives yet remain under-recognized and undertreated, despite evidence that most sufferers report histories of childhood trauma, particularly emotional maltreatment. This study had three objectives: to explore the lived experiences and meaning-making of women with PMDs and emotional maltreatment histories; to examine perceived connections between premenstrual distress and past trauma; and to evaluate the role of drawing as a research tool for accessing experiences difficult to verbalize. งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) เพื่อหาแนวทางการแก้ปัญหาสิ่งไร้มูลค่าทางการเกษตรจากไม้ลำไย ในเขตระเบียงเศรษฐกิจพิเศษภาคเหนือ (NEC) สู่การสร้างนวัตกรรมสิ่งทอชีวภาพ ตามแนวทางการพัฒนาโมเดลเศรษฐกิจ บีซีจี (2) เพื่อสร้างแนวทางการออกแบบตราสินค้าและผลิตภัณฑ์แฟชั่นและไลฟ์สไตล์ที่ยั่งยืนจากนวัตกรรมสิ่งทอชีวภาพตามแนวคิดเศรษฐกิจสร้างสรรค์ล้านนา สำหรับกลุ่มไมโครเจนเนอเรชั่น: ซิลเลนเนียลส์ (3) เพื่อสร้างต้นแบบแนวคิดโมเดลธุรกิจของอุตสาหกรรมแฟชั่นและสิ่งทอที่ยั่งยืนให้กับผู้ประกอบการและ นักออกแบบรุ่นใหม่ สู่การสร้างมูลค่าเพิ่มด้วยนวัตกรรมสิ่งทอชีวภาพจากสิ่งไร้มูลค่าทางการเกษตร งานวิจัยใช้ระเบียบวิธีแบบผสมผสานเชิงปริมาณและคุณภาพ พร้อมทั้งการทดลองทางด้านวัสดุศาสตร์ ผลวิจัยพบว่าสิ่งไร้มูลค่าทางการเกษตรไม้ลำไยในพื้นที่ NEC สามารถเพิ่มมูลค่าเป็นวัสดุชีวภาพเชิงอุตสาหกรรมได้ โดยผลจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญส่งเสริมเป็นวัสดุคอมโพซิสชีวภาพ ร้อยละ 95 เส้นใยจากเซลลูโลสและ พอลิเมอร์ชีวภาพ ร้อยละ 90 ผ่านการผสมวัสดุชีวภาพ เช่น พอลิแลคติกแอซิด หรือยางธรรมชาติ เพื่อเพิ่มสมบัติเชิงกลและความเป็นไปได้ในการผลิต ผลวิจัยทำให้เกิดนวัตกรรม 5 รูปแบบดังนี้ (1) ผงเซลลูโลสจากเนื้อไม้ลำไย (CMC) (2) เส้นใยชีวภาพจากผงเนื้อไม้ลำไยผสมยางพาราด้วยกระบวนการอัดรีด (3) เส้นใยชีวภาพจากผงเนื้อไม้ลำไยผสมพลาสติกชีวภาพด้วยกระบวนการอัดรีด (4) เส้นใยชีวภาพจากผงเนื้อไม้ลำไยผสมพลาสติกชีวภาพด้วยการขึ้นรูปแบบการปั่นเส้นด้ายด้วยความร้อน และ (5) สิ่งทอชีวภาพจากเส้นใยชีวภาพจากผงเนื้อไม้ลำไย ผลการประเมินด้านการออกแบบจากการสำรวจกลุ่มเป้าหมายและการวิเคราะห์ชุดข้อมูลเปเปอร์ดอล์ พบว่ากลุ่มซิลเลนเนียลส์สนใจสตรีทสไตล์ มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด 4.45 รองลงมาคือฟิวเจอริสติก 4.03 และสไตล์กีฬา 3.77 สอดคล้องกับผลจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญคือสตรีทสไตล์มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด 4.40 และโครงสร้างโอเวอร์ไซส์ ค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด 4.60 สนใจการผสมผสานวัสดุ มีค่า 4.60 รูปแบบมีความเฉพาะตัว ร้อยละ 90.84 ลวดลายโดดเด่น ร้อยละ 88.19 ยังพบว่าร้อยละ 96.87 สนใจเครื่องแต่งกายและเครื่องประดับจากทุนทางวัฒนธรรมล้านนา ด้านมิติด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมพบว่า ร้อยละ 85 ให้ความสำคัญกับวัสดุนวัตกรรมสีเขียว สู่การออกแบบแฟชั่นและไลฟ์สไตล์ที่ยั่งยืน การพัฒนาต้นแบบโมเดลธุรกิจพบว่ามีความชัดเจนของโมเดล ค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด 4.60 ความเข้าใจง่ายของโครงสร้างค่าเฉลี่ย 4.55 และความเป็นไปได้ในการนำไปใช้จริง ค่าเฉลี่ย 4.50 พร้อมการยืนยันว่าการสร้างแบรนด์เป็นกลยุทธ์สำคัญที่สุด ร้อยละ 90 รองลงมาคือการตลาดดิจิทัล ร้อยละ 80 และการตลาดแบบกลุ่มเฉพาะ ร้อยละ 75 ดังนั้นโมเดลที่พัฒนานี้สามารถใช้เป็นต้นแบบสำหรับผู้ประกอบการรุ่นใหม่เพื่อเพิ่มศักยภาพในกระบวนการผลิตต้นน้ำถึงปลายน้ำสู่เชิงพาณิชย์ในระดับสากลได้อย่างยั่งยืน

In E-Co-Affectivity, Marjolein Oele explores the deep connectivity and relational entanglements of plants, animals, humans, and the soil as elemental components of a co-affective community. Her deconstructive reading of the Aristotelian conception of degrees of three souls, with such hierarchy of humans-animals-vegetables via what she calls categorical contamination,” is a brilliant example of how re-reading the western canon can cast important interpretive light upon contemporary ethico-political questions.
