Urban planners have been long interested in understanding how urban structure and activities are mutually influenced. Human mobility and economic activities naturally drive the formation of road network structure and the accessibility of the latter shapes the patterns of movement flow across urban space. In this paper, we perform an exploratory study on the relationship between the street network structure and the intensity of human movement in urban areas. The urban heat island (UHi) with its significant energy, health, and societal impacts is among the major environmental issues in urban regions, especially in historically underserved and socially vulnerable communities (HUSVCs). In the 1930s, the former federal agency, Homeowners' Loan Corporation (H0Lq, created ''Residential Security" maps of major cities, known today as "redlined" areas. New York City is a city of water, with more than eight million residents living on its islands, creeks, and wetlands, and over 130 neighborhoods located along its 520 miles of waterfront. New York City is now facing a perilous future, shaped by sea level rise. In the decades ahead, the city will be forced to make difficult decisions, as its waterfront communities are impacted by more frequent storms and devastating floods. Resumen

Este estudio explora la evolución de la estructura urbana del Área Metropolitana de Guadalajara (AMG) entre 1999 y 2019. A través de un análisis de doble umbral se identifican nueve subcentros de empleo en 1999 y 14 en 2019, y se analiza su tamaño, estructura espacial y especialización económica. El cálculo de un índice de primacía demuestra que el AMG tiende hacia el monocentrismo. Si bien el AMG ha logrado la aparición de nuevos subcentros de empleo, éstos se agrupan en el espacio para conformar lo que se podría denominar “la gran aglomeración central del AMG”. Por último, se …
