The report also surveyed business’s stock in Lynn, while proposing recommendations for using telecommunications for economic development. Finally, the report wraps up by using the city of Lynn as a case study for other communities.

The purpose of this study was to assist the town of Holden in assessing further development potential along a 1.6 mile stretch of Main Street. Holden’s History is similar to many small New England towns, as it has evolved into a suburb in the post WWII period. The socioeconomic analysis shows a growing community where a large proportion of the residents are professionals and financially well off. There is a strong sense of community and the citizens are concerned about the future of their town.

The purpose of this report was to assess the effects of declining membership on Masonic Buildings throughout the Connecticut River Valley. The Masons are an international philanthropic fraternal organization which has over 31 lodges or groups which meet at 24 sites in our study area. In Massachusetts, Masonic membership has declined almost 30% in the last ten years.

In an ongoing effort to evaluate the effectiveness of its operations, the Town of Pelham engaged the services of the Center for Economic Development (CED) at the University of Massachusetts to examine the Highway (DPW), Police and Fire departments.

To that end, CED produced a detailed matrix comparing Pelham's three departments with those of three other communities; contacted professional and government organizations for potentially useful trends and researched additional information requested by the town.
