Generally, religion has served as a method of creating a unique identity and history for many groups across history. The Power Of Counterstory With Martín Alberto Gonzalez, Martín Alberto Gonzalez

In this episode of PDXPLORES, Chicano & Latino Studies Professor Martín Alberto Gonzalez discusses the counterstory. As Gonzalez explains, counterstories are a narrative form of scholarly communication that uses stories to disrupt oppressive narratives established by empowered groups. Counterstory does so by pointing to the roles that systems of oppression, like white supremacy, racism, sexism, and capitalism, play in society, and higher education, in particular, by providing alternative narratives.

The following analysis takes a look at how Marvel Studios portrays the treatment of African American men in heroic positions and how it connects and compares to the treatment of them in the real world through a sociological lens in one of their latest television series Falcon and The Winter Soldier. En 2006, la Ley de Emergencia Indígena, Ley N° 26.160, fue aprobado por el Congreso de la Nación de Argentina para detener los desalojos de las comunidades indígenas y crear relevamientos técnicos-jurídicos-catastrales a través del Instituto Nacional de Asuntos Indígenas (INAI). La implementación de esta ley ha variado entre provincias ya que depende del sistema gobierno provincial para su realización, y como resultado de la falta de finalización del relevamiento, se ha extendido 4 veces. Esta investigación analizará algunos procesos vinculados a la producción de la memoria travesti y trans* en Argentina a partir de la experiencia del Archivo de la Memoria Trans (AMT).
