The University of Maine Center on Aging, in partnership with the Maine Center for Osteoporosis Research and Education, was one of three grantees taking part in a U.S. Administration on Aging-funded project to develop a national osteoporosis awareness and action plan targeting postmenopausal women


The University of Maine Center on Aging’s portion of the research entailed several phases of activity. The University of Maine Center on Aging was founded in 2002; this report highlights and discusses the ongoing work of the Center on Aging in that time period. The programs discussed include the Resident Senior Volunteer Corps, Music Uniting Students and Elders, and The Whole Woman program to raise awareness about osteoporosis. The report also includes a brief financial report which discusses funding sources and how funds were allocated over the first three years of operation.
