The older volunteers have unique characteristics and are vastly different from previous generations (Einolf, 2008; The Urban Institute, 2007). They have overlooked and undervalued skills that agencies can tap for service to their community. Volunteer agency should develop strategy to managing the match between skills and volunteering. An efficient matching system will use vast skills accumulated through volunteer's history of employment.
