The purpose of this study is to examine graduate level social work students' perceptions of emotional abuse in order to understand the underlying thought processes that affect the response and decision-making of these future professionals who will likely be responsible for reporting, investigating, and/or treating emotional abuse of children.

Child Welfare Workers' Perspectives On Father-Daughter Attachments And Teenage Pregnancy, Ruby Aceves, Dawn Denise Vetro

The study investigated Children and Family Services (CFS) workers' awareness of the importance of father-daughter attachments and the associated risks of teenage pregnancy as well as the use of such knowledge in their intake assessment process. A quantitative, cross-sectional, survey design was utilized to study 113 child welfare workers who were employed with San Bernardino County Children and Family Services in California.
