An explosion on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig caused 200 million gallons of crude oil to spill on the Gulf Coast over a five-month span. About 16,000 miles of coastline, ecosystem and marine life along Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas were contaminated. This disaster and the recovery process caused social, financial, and ecological shocks, resulting in adverse psychosocial and physical health outcomes, health disparities, and socioeconomic inequality. EI is a relatively new topic of research that has been of interest to many organizations due to the proposition that EI assists in the development of individuals. Background & Purpose: Many victims of sexual assault are rising to advocate for sexual assault prevention on college campuses, including Christian college campuses. Some reports indicate that Christian campuses shy away from the topic and refuse to allow needed programs on sex or sexual assault to be introduced to their campuses, even though it is so adamantly needed. The purpose of this study was to increase the promotion of sexual assault awareness and prevention to students on the campus of Charleston Southern University.

Of the 1.2 million individuals living with HIV, African Americans continue to be the most adversely impacted population in the U.S. (CDC, 2015). While there has been a decrease over time in new HIV infections among this population, statistics indicate that in 2012, African Americans accounted for almost half of those living with HIV (47%) in the U.S. (CDC, 2015). Among those infected men who have sex with men (MSMs), heterosexual males, and heterosexual females account for highest rates of infection among this group in 2010 (CDC, 2015).
