This study explores the association between adolescents body image concerns and self-injurious behaviors among students enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade. The study is exploratory in nature and uses a quantitative design. The study collected archival data from counseling services provided through alocal school district’s counseling program. More specifically, the archival data was retrieved from initial assessments gathered from students participating in the local school district’s counseling program. Research suggests that trauma has an impact on eating disorders. While prior research has demonstrated that the trauma from abuse has a significant impact on eating disorders, research has failed to explore other types of trauma. In addition, previous studies have stopped short of examining the impact trauma has on functioning among individuals with an eating disorder. This study aimed to address that gap in the literature. This study discussed the differences in perceived quality of life issues between hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis patients. This study conducted open dialogue with the patients on various treatment modalities, to discover how the patients Q.O.L. (Quality of Life) concerns affected their treatment decisions and to further investigate what social workers can do to assist the patient in increasing their quality of life, and if necessary, advocate for the patient in their treatment choice.
