This study looked at the extent to which an elder's impaired mental functioning (IMF) is a factor in Adult Protective Services (APS). With the aging of the baby boomers, there is a concern over the likelihood of an increase in reported cases of perpetrators of financial abuse of elders residing in San Bernardino County as reported by Adult Protective Services (APS). This study included 201 confirmed financial abuse cases(data from the San Bernardino Department of Aging and Adult Services) for the period of January 13-December 19, 2005 in the high desert areas. This study utilized both qualitative and quantitative research to explore the correlation of spirituality and late life satisfaction of assisted living residents. The narrative life review process revealed a wealth of information on the effect spirituality had upon various aspects of respondents' lives.
