This paper is the product of three weeks of research on contraception and the lives of married Fulani women in Ngaoundéré, Cameroon. In my seminar paper, I discussed the benefits for both parties of collaboration between traditional healers and modern scientific researchers. If research is done on the medicinal effects of plants, these cures can be used more safely and effectively by members of the community. This relationship is greatly beneficial in theory, but the reality is less than ideal.
