Key Themes Of Practical Implications Of Lean, Six Sigma And Lean Six Sigma In The Public Administration Sector. A Systematic Literature Review, Evangelos Psomas, Efthalia Keramida, Antony Jiju

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to identify the key themes of practical implications of Lean, Six Sigma (SS) and Lean Six Sigma (LSS) in the public administration sector.

Design/methodology/approach: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted based on the following academic publishers: Emerald, Elsevier/Science Direct, Sage, Springer Link, Taylor & Francis, and Willey online. Fifty-six articles published between 2004 and 2020 were found. Based on the “affinity diagram”, the practical implications of Lean, SS and LSS were classified into key themes.

Abstract

Even before the U.S. Supreme Court issued its decision In Murphy v. NCAA (2018) permitting states to legalize sports wagering, the biggest brand-names in gaming worldwide were positioning themselves to capitalize on the fan base for America’s most recognizable sports leagues.

Sports wagering already is up and running in five states; analysts predict that more than half the states will legalize it within five years. Many will be among the 29 states that currently have casinos owned and operated by American Indian tribes in this $32.4 billion market segment.

This project’s objective is to study and propose an alternative budgeting method for use by the City of Albuquerque’s municipal government. Zero-base budgeting (ZBB) is a modern government budgeting process that allocates funds starting from a base of zero for operating units and requires annual justification of all resource and service items in the budget.
