If an individual is up to date on current events, it makes it easier to carry on or even start a conversation with another individual who is also up to date. The researchers feel that individuals aged 40 and over are more up to date on current events than those ages 18- 25. In the current study, 46 participants; 26 participants aged 18-25 years old and 20 participants aged 40 years and older, recruited from the St. Charles area, took a ten question questionnaire on current events.
