Aggression And Depression Factors In Pornography Use Of College Aged Individuals, Brandon Scott

After multiple legal, cultural and technological changes, pornography’s accessibility and role in modern western culture has expanded exponentially (Kammeyer, 2008). This paper examines the possible correlates of specific emotions to pornography use, perceived effects of pornography use and gender differences in college aged individuals. Participants were Trinity College students (N = 47) who were asked by email to fill out an anonymous, online survey. As expected, male participants showed a significantly higher frequency of pornography use. Initial analysis using the Beck Depression Inventory and the Aggression Questionnaire (Buss & Perry, 1992) showed no significant relationship to frequency of pornography use …
