64% of homes have at least one person who plays video games regularly (The ESA, 2018). With the continuously growing popularity of video games comes debate about the potential detriments that gaming may have on people’s health, particularly children. On the news, video games are often painted as unhealthy, claiming that gaming is addicting and leads people to become antisocial. The media also quickly points to the violent content of some video games as the cause for violent acts.
