ETD Archive

The present research was designed to evaluate the reliability and validity of a new measure for Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder, namely the Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder Questionnaire (OCPDQ). One hundred and forty students at a Midwestern urban university were administered the OCPDQ as well as the Leyton Obsessional Inventory (LOI Cooper, 1970) and the Padua Inventory-Washington State University Revision (PI-WSUR Burns, Keortege, Formea, & Sternberger, 1996). The reliability and validity of the OCPDQ were analyzed and each of the eight subscales that corresponded to the eight criteria for OCPD were examined. The OCPDQ had a high level of reliability with …

Preliminary Study Of The Narcissistic Personality Questionnaire, Ethan H. Motter

ETD Archive

This study was designed to create a new measure for narcissism. Furthermore, the NPQ will be based on the 9 DSM-IV-TR criteria for narcissism. The NPQ will be compared to the NPI with is a more established instrument of narcissism. The study examined 124 students from a certain midwestern university in north east Ohio. Results indicate that the NPQ has a higher reliability than the NPI. Additionally, the NPQ displays a high construct validity due the high correlations between the NPQ and the NPI. However, future studies should attempt to replicate the results as well as measure divergent validity in …

ETD Archive

This study examined the reliability and validity of a new measure, an inventory designed for the assessment of Dependent Personality traits. The new scale, the Dependent Personality Inventory, uses a dichotomous (True/ False) answer format and produces 8 subscales which correspond with the individual criterion of the disorder as defined by the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 4th edition (DSM-IV-TR). The scale was administered to a sample of 82 students attending a large mid-western university in the United States. Factor analysis of the DPI using a Principle Components Analysis produced two main factors. Additional analysis showed a …
